[LG Front load washing machine error code] dE appears on the display and the machine does not operate.

Troubleshooting

Does the display show a dE (Door Error) indication when the washing machine does not start or stops working?

The door of the front load washing machine is designed to completely seal in order to prevent leakage of water or steam during washing and spinning.
If the laundry is not properly placed in the laundry tub (drum) or the washing machine door is faulty and cannot seal when closed, leakage can result.
In such a case, the [dE] sign will appear and the washing machine will not operate.

Causes and Symptoms

  • There is too much laundry for the washing machine door to close properly, or there is laundry stuck between the washer door and the door gasket.
  • The washing machine door is not properly closed.
  • There's something wrong with the door gasket.
  • The washing machine door or connected parts are damaged.

Try this

Did you not place the laundry well inside the tub?

➔ If a large laundry load is pushing on the washing machine door preventing it from closing completely, push the laundry deeper into the machine before closing the door.

If bulky laundry, such as blankets, interferes with the washing machine door, the washing machine door may not close completely.
Laundry that is stuck between the washing machine door and the door gasket may cause the washing machine door to not close completely.
Push the laundry in deeply so that the washing machine door can completely close.

Laundry normal, too much laundry, laundry door jammed, description

Do you normally just press the top of the washing machine door to close it?

➔ When you close the washing machine door, press the middle part of the handle firmly to close it.

If the washer door is not closed properly and the [dE] sign appears, pull the handle to open it again, then press firmly on the center of the washer door to close it.
The [dE] sign no longer shows and the washing machine starts to operate again.
