LG Robot Vacuum - Why is the Vacuum Only Moving Backwards?

  • Troubleshooting

Causes and Symptoms

  • There are foreign objects on the front and the rear.
  • There are foreign objects at the bottom sensor.
  • There are foreign objects near the charging station.

The robot vacuum cleaner has a sensor that detects obstacles on its own.
If the robot vacuum believes that there is an obstacle at the front, or it might fall to the floor, then it will keep moving backward.

Try this

Did you try to clean the front sensor and the top camera?

➔ If there are foreign objects near the front sensor or top camera, the sensor might fail and thus the robot vacuum might move backward.

Using a cleaning brush or soft patch, clean the sensor thoroughly.
If there is sticky stuff, then use a wet tissue to wipe it off. Use a dry cloth to wipe it off one more time to prevent stains.
