The LG PuriCare AeroFurniture Air Purifier is as smart as it comes. For someone who has recently found the importance of an air purifier, it helps greatly to have an 'Auto Feature' where the speed of the fan is determined by the purifier and I do not have to set the speed manually just by guessing.

Whilst the LG ThinQ app, is extremely user-friendly and packed with all the features just taps away, I use it with Google Home, and it is the simplest connection by far however; I can only control the purifier through Google Home and not the lighting, which I'd be very happy to see LG roll out in the future, however, I can do without it as the ambient lighting is a nice to have rather than a must-have feature.

What I appreciate the moment, is a feature that is, personally, very under-appreciated - Wireless Charging. As one who does not charge my phone overnight, I find this secondary feature very handy, especially since I'm on the move for most of my day. I simply rest my phone in its dedicated charging spot on the tabletop, and boom - my phone's charging. This feature is often overlooked as everyone wants to have their phone charged but does not want to be away from it (assuming everyone like me, often charges their phones in the bedroom and often doesn't have access to more than one charger).

The mood lighting is *drum roll* ... customisable; and allows me to create the perfect ambience for any occasion, it does not feature addressable RGB, but has great options in terms of colours considering this is purely ambient lighting and I also can choose between a 50% or 100% brightness.

The LG ThinQ app has a very intuitive interface and makes it easy for me to customise my air purification preference, lighting, and brightness.

I got the chance to test this product through LG’s Try & Buy campaign via Dubai Expat Community (shoutout to Katie Jones, our lovely group admin), and as a newborn mom, I was hopeful for the opportunity (happy was picked!). Air purifier is a must for our household, mainly because I have a severe skin dust allergy and almost monthly AC cleaning and use of air purifiers have helped a lot, and now we have a new born baby (pre term) - we try to be so careful about everything and a use of air purifier in our nursery is a must for us. Currently, we already have five), and with all the construction dust around, centralized AC units, I was curious to see how this “smart furniture” would hold up.

First Impression: Is it love at first sight with LG Aero Furniture?

At first glance, with the price of 1,949 AED, this is definitely not your average air purifier. For me, in my field, I’d consider this as a statement piece, a designer piece. But is it just style over gist? Let’s learn about it.

The Setup: Super E-A-S-Y. Literally, it’s faster than setting up a new iPhone- it’s plug and play, but pro tip: remove the plastic wrap from the HEPA filter before use. It sounds common and obvious, but man trust me, someone must be out there currently wondering why their new air purifier reminds them of the smell of burnt plastic, because literally.

The Build & Design: I think I’d give three plain adjectives - Solid, sturdy, and sleek, no no, change that to “sexy”. It doesn’t scream, “LOOK at ME! I’m an air purifier!” which already is a major point. The smooth matte finish is beautiful, but I do think/ believe (suggest) LG could take it a bit more advance by allowing maybe a wood or marble finish? Something that blends into different interiors better. Perhaps the grooves in the trunk of the body can be in the shades of Taupe or Nude to match a different interior feel.

The Size: Don’t expect to place a monitor and keyboards, or eat with full dining set up - This is more of a side table than a coffee table so manage your expectations and don’t look forward for it to hold more than a book, a cup of coffee, and maybe your phone, perhaps a tablet. But that’s the beauty of it, it’s not HUGE and BULKY, it’s not the usual space eater furniture, and this thing cleans your air (remind you again.)

Let’s talk about Performance: Does It really Do Its Job, purify the air that you breathe?

So this air purifier turn to table, does it really clean your air?

Talk about 360-degree air purification: This means the clean air is not focus on a quarter of a space or just blasting in one direction; because of the design, round, the purification is done evenly.

Automation: I love how it adjusts the speed based on air quality, I love that it has an automatic feature, which I know is not new but it’s important to have for an air purifier. Also, one worth mentioning as we own 5 other machines from different brands, it’s good to point out that this machine adapts smoothly in the current surroundings, its more quiet at night and I’m telling you, this machine is perfect for the night if you like it deep quiet.

Is there a Freshness factor? Okay, I’m not going to exaggerate it by telling you that it made my home smell like the Swiss Alps and fresh butter and croissant, but the air does feel cleaner, lighter, and fresher. Mind you that we went on vacation for 5 days and we left the machine in our storage room with our shoe racks are, and no joke, felt cleaner in a way.

Other Features That Are WORTH Talking About!

The mesh cover on the filter: ONE word, “Genius.” In Dubai, dust is basically part of the air we breathe, lot of factors but it’s a sandpit so being able to remove and wash the mesh is an absolute smart move from LG. I haven’t seen this on any other purifier we owned.

The wireless charging: This might be just an addition from the design of this product just to make it a little bit more cool but it makes sense. It's a simple feature, but it's so convenient! We got used to it that my husband and I would take turns because it’s a fast charging pad too. I hate having charging cables to be honest, it just cluttered my space, so having to just drop my phone on the table and charge, super loving it.

The (Hotel Feel) ambient lighting: Two levels of brightness as far as i have discovered it, activated by a hidden button under the table top, very sleek. As a newborn mom, this is perfect for midnight feedings without waking my husband up. Perfect for afternoon naps too when we shut the curtains and we want to keep a little bit of light. Functional and aesthetically pleasing. Again, form and function combined. Makes the room so fancy and feels like you’re in one of those free upgraded hotel suites.

The ThinQ App & UV Light: (This part is from my husband as he used the app on his phone) The app is user-friendly but nothing too special, as other brands have a working app that functions well with the air purifier but what really surprised me? (My husband and I) It has UV light purification. That means it’s not just filtering dust but supposedly killing bacteria, germs and viruses too. I’m no doctor or scientist, but as a (overprotective) mom, I feel better knowing that the machine I have has a feature like this.

The Final Verdict: Is it Worth It?

I’ll be honest, the price is a little steep. But if we are to break it down,

1. A mid-range air purifier already costs around 800-1,200 AED, ours ranges from these prices

2. A designer side table can go anywhere from 600-1,500 AED, marble top on this size can start anywhere from 700 AED

3. A wireless charging station? I don’t have one, but probably around 200-400 AED

So if you were to buy a combination of all these things separately, the LG Aero Furniture actually makes sense.

You are actually paying for a 2-in-1 functional furniture piece rather than just an air purifier that you’d probably make sure to hide in the furthest corner of your room because come on they all look like UFOs and they do not compliment our interiors well enough.

Ideally, who should actually buy this product?

✔ If you love modern, conservative and minimalist furniture and condemns the UFO looking air purifiers

✔ If you have limited space like ours and loves multi tasking pieces at home

✔ If you’re a light sleeper (heavy dreamer)

✔ If you care about air quality at home but also enjoys designer pieces of furniture

✔ If you hate cables everywhere but wants a ready port for charging

Maybe a No rather than Yay, to those who will probably have to skip this..

• If you have a tight budget in mind but still requires an air purifier, you’d probably enjoy another model/brand

• If you need a large coffee table and this size just doesn’t make sense for you

• If you prefer traditional furniture look (for now)

Pop the big question, I do or I do not for LG Aero Furniture?

For me? Definitely I do. It’s not just an air purifier, it’s a multifunctional, smart, very decorative addition to my home. It suits my minimalistic home, nothing bulky or chunky. If LG ever expands the design options like what I mentioned earlier about the finishes and colors, I think they have a massive potential on prevail the smart furniture market. Am I open to buying a preloved LG Aero? Honestly, if it were a little cheaper, I’d be tempted…but I still need to do my math before any purchase.

So here goes the bottom line, If you’re happy and willing to pay in a high-quality, multi-functional air purifier, the LG Aero Furniture is an item absolutely worth considering. It’s quiet, effective, aesthetically created and designed, and truth to be told, having one in your home, makes a you feel a little fancy.

It would also be great if the colors could transition smoothly or if preset light themes like "Movie," "Jazz," or "Romantic" were available.

Charging Function

A major highlight of the LG Aero Purifier is the built-in wireless charging feature. Simply placing a smartphone (e.g., an iPhone) on the tabletop enables effortless charging – a truly useful addition.

Multimedia Functions

Besides the charging function and LED lighting, I would have loved to see an integrated music function. Since the device features Wi-Fi, built-in speakers would have been a logical and valuable addition to enhance its functionality.

Table Size

The LG Aero Purifier combines air purification with a modern, space-saving design. However, the tabletop is relatively small. It is sufficient for a book and a smartphone, but using a laptop on it is difficult. Therefore, it cannot fully replace a conventional living room table.

Conclusion

Overall, the LG Aero Purifier pleasantly surprised me, especially compared to my previous purifier, which was less convincing. The well-thought-out features and ease of use are definite positives. However, some aspects are not ideal for me, such as the limited table size, the lack of a music function, and the somewhat underwhelming color adjustment.

Due to these reasons, I ultimately decided to return the device. Nevertheless, I believe that future versions could easily incorporate these features, making the LG Aero Purifier an even more attractive product.

The purification performance is more impressive than the other brand I was using. The moment it detects air particles, it kicks into action instantly, and I can feel the difference in air quality within minutes. I am not exaggerating, it indeed does that. One can monitor this via the ThinQ app. Also, the instant integration into smart homes made it a breeze to control remotely with my home automation.

My guests were also impressed with the built-in fast wireless charger, asking where to get one as well. The ambient mood lighting goes well with my Hue setup and aesthetically elevates the overall experience. The angle of light doesn’t interfere with sleep.

Considering the construction going around my humid seaside apartment, I felt confident while making sure my daughter sleeps only with Aero in the room. Noise levels are incredibly low, even at higher speeds, and didn't interrupt our sleep as well. If you want clean air without compromising on style, this genuinely is a fantastic choice.

The Air Purifier is very light, sleek and has additional features I wasn’t expecting, including the WiFi connectivity, under-table light and wireless Bluetooth charging port.

Putting the Air Purifier together was quick and easy. As it’s a functional table, you don’t need to worry about finding an out of the way place for it - I had it right next to my armchair, and it matched the vibe of my apartment perfectly!

There’s three levels of fan settings, but even the lightest is powerful enough to purify the room. It’s completely silent, so I’d even forget that it was on! This is wonderful for going about your day while knowing the air is clean.

The light shows three different colours depending on the air quality, and it changes almost immediately so the product is very sensitive. If I opened the balcony door or lit a candle, it would instantly turn red and increase the fan intensity.

I trust the LG Air Purifier to keep me and my pet’s lungs safe and healthy :)
