[LG Dryer error code] A CL error appears on the display or the select function button is not working

Does the [CL] error appear on the display while the dryer is running?

Causes and Symptoms

• The button lock function is enabled.
• The select function button is pressed without selecting a dry cycle.

[CL] stands for [Control Lock], which is a safety feature that locks the function buttons of the dryer to prevent accidents, or a child controlling the dryer and causing a malfunction.
When the button lock function is enabled, the selected function will not work.
Pressing the select function button without dialing the preferred dry cycle will also stop the buttons from working.

Is the [Control Lock] button function enabled?

➔ Find the button that unlocks the control lock function on each model and press it for 3 seconds.

If the button lock feature is enabled while the dryer is running, there will be a notification sound as the [CL] indicator with the remaining drying time appears repeatedly on the display.
If this happens, pressing the buttons will not work. The button lock function needs to be disabled in order to operate the dryer.

Was the select function button pressed without selecting a dry cycle?

➔ Turn the cycle selection dial to select a dry cycle, and then press the select function button.

Pressing the select function button without turning the dial will produce a ringing sound and the button will not work.
Make sure to turn on the dryer, select a cycle, and then select the function.
