LG electric range - I’m curious how to use the Control Lock function

Troubleshooting

How to Set and Use the Lock Function on Your Electric Range

The Lock or Control Lock feature is a safety function that prevents children from using the electric range. When activated, it stops the control panel from working, so the burners won’t turn on.

What Happens When the Lock is On?

  • The control panel doesn’t respond to touch, so the burners won’t heat up.
  • If you see [E] or [E1] on the display, it could mean that something is stuck on the touch buttons, or the button has been pressed for too long (more than 9 seconds). Simply wipe the buttons, press the [Power] button, and the range should work fine.

How to Turn on the Lock:

  1. Press and hold the [Lock] or [Control Lock] button for 3 seconds.
  2. When the red indicator light turns on, the lock is set.

If you don't press any buttons, the light will turn off after 5 seconds.

How to Turn off the Lock:

  1. Press and hold the [Lock] or [Control Lock] button for 3 seconds.
  2. The red indicator light will turn off, and the lock is deactivated.

Important Notes:

  • If the control lock is set, you won’t be able to use the buttons and the electric range will make a ringing sound if you try.
  • If you unplug the electric range and plug it back in, the control lock will be automatically canceled.

This lock feature helps prevent accidents, especially with children around!
