[LG Air Conditioner Noise][General Pipe] I hear the water flowing sounds from the air conditioner.(hissing, swishing, gulping sound)

Troubleshooting

When I turn on or off the air conditioner, I hear the water flowing sounds from the stand or wall mounted type product like hissing, swishing or gulping sound.

As the refrigerant(air conditioner gas) circulating the air conditioner pipe suddenly speeds up, you will normally hear the water flowing sounds like ‘gulping sound’.
If you hear the water flowing sound when you turn on or off the air conditioner for the first time, then it will be less louder as time passes.

Why you hear the water flowing sounds when you turn on the air conditioner
When you turn on the air conditioner, the amount of refrigerant that travels to create cold wind is increased, and its speed gets faster.
At this moment, as the refrigerant moves, you will hear the water flowing sounds like ‘gulping sound’.
This is a normal sound generated when the air conditioner operates. The closer you get to the target temperature the less noises will be heard and finally it will completely disappear.
Why you hear the water flowing sounds when you stop the air conditioner
When you use the air conditioner, the refrigerant flows along the pipe from the outdoor unit to the stand or wall mounted type air conditioner.
And, when the air conditioner is stopped, instantaneously, the refrigerant pressure is evenly distributed to make sure that it does not rush to either one of the outdoor unit, the stand or wall mounted type air conditioner.
Therefore, after the air conditioner stops operating, you might heart the water flowing sounds such as ‘gulping sound’.
As the refrigerant is evenly distributed over the pipe, the noise will be reduced and completely gone.
If you installed the drain pump together with the air conditioner, then it might be a problem with the drain pump.
If the noise from the drain pump became louder suddenly, then consult with the pump installation company or pump maker.
The sound is generated as the refrigerant moves from the outdoor unit to the air conditioner along the pipe.
