Does cool air not blow when you turn the power on, and press [Cooling] button?
Cool air blows, but cooling seems mild.
Causes and Symptoms
- The temperature in the space where the outdoor is installed.
- You might select a function of mild cooling.
- The ultrafine filter is covered with dusts.
An air conditioner operates with the principle of inhaling ambient air, cooling the air, and then blowing
cooled air to great distance.
If these procedures do not work well, the cooling capability may be degraded.
First, make sure that the place of the outdoor unit is well ventilated, and that there is no obstacles
blocking the rear side of the stand.
You can also drop the indoor temperature fast when you select proper function of the air conditioner.
Try this
Is the ventilation window of the outdoor unit chamber closed?
➔ Remove obstacles from surroundings of the outdoor unit, or open the ventilation
window.
If the temperature in the outdoor unit chamber is high, hot air may flow into the air conditioner.
Remove obstacles from the front, the rear and the surroundings of the outdoor unit to allow exhausting hot
air from the unit out of the building.
Open the window or the ventilation window of the outdoor chamber, and keep the louver of the ventilation
louver horizontal as possible.
Do you use the function of [Air Cleaning Only], [Power Saving] or [Dehumidifying]?
➔ Press [Cooling] button, and set the target temperature to 18℃(64.4℉).
You can drop the indoor temperature fast.
The function of [Air Cleaning Only] or [Power Saving] consumes less power; however, the outdoor unit does
not run, or rotates at slow speed to cause users feel mild cooling.
[Dehumidifying] function causes automatic setting of the temperature applied on the function.
In such a case, cooling air may be felt milder than when user selects [Cooling] and set target
temperature.
Press [Cooling] button on the remote control and set the target temperature to 18℃(64.4℉), and then run the
product for approximately 30 minutes or longer.
Check the operation mode of the air conditioner.
1. Select the normal cooling mode, and set the target temperature to 18℃(64.4℉), and then run the product for 30 minutes or longer and check cool air.
2. When you select the function of [Air Cleaning Only], [Dehumidifying], [AI] or [Power Saving], you may feel cooling mild.
Did you clean the ultrafine filter one month ago or earlier last?
➔ Clean the ultrafine filter.
The filter covered with dusts is not capable of inhaling or exhausting air well, and cooling performance may
be degraded.
Further, loud noise may be heard, or the air conditioner excessively runs to consume more power.
If you cleaned the fine filter a month ago or earlier last, turn the power of the air conditioner off, and
clean the filter.
The location and the removal method of the ultrafine filter may vary among the products.
Refer to the user’s manual to remove the filter, and then suck dusts with an air conditioner, or clean the
filter with a soft brush.
The air conditioners use other filters of various functions including ultrafine filter.
The ultrafine filter can only be washed with water. The all-in-one filter of the ultrafine filter and
the dust collection filter, or filters of other functions are not allowed of washing with water, and
should be replaced with new filters, if contaminated.
Before cleaning the filter, refer to the user’s manual for how to clean the filter.
Does the outdoor unit get hot after exposed to direct sunlight for an extended period?
➔ Install a screen on the top of the outdoor unit to protect the unit from transfer of outdoor heat into the unit.
If the outdoor temperature is high due to intense heat, the temperature inside the outdoor heat may
rise.
The air conditioner may fail in performing normal cooling function of outdoor is below 18℃(64.4℉), or above
48℃(118.4℉).
If the temperature on the outdoor unit rises high due to direct sunlight during hot summer, cool air may not
blow even if you run the air conditioner long.
In such a case, unplug the power cord of the air conditioner, and spray water on the evaporator to remove
the heat.
If the place of the outdoor unit is largely exposed to sunlight, install a screen over the unit. This will
effectively protect the unit from sunlight.
The screen should be tightly fastened when installing to prevent fluttering of the screen, and the screen should not block the rear and the sides of the unit.
