What causes my AC's cool air to be weak and not cold enough?
Symptom
Cooling air > weak cooling air
Cause
Circulation of the refrigerant may be interrupted when the outdoor unit is heated by sunlight, resulting in weak cold air.
How to fix
- Please protect the outdoor unit from sunlight by putting a sun screen on it.
Spraying cold water on the outdoor unit after unplugging also helps to cool down.
- If the size of the place where AC is installed is larger than what the AC can cover, cooling may appear insufficient.
※
The difference between intake temperature and discharge temperature is normally over 8 degrees.

How to measure temperature
1) Intake temperature : Temperature measured about 5 meters from the filter
2) Discharge temperature : Temperature measured about 5 meters from the air outlet.
Ex) Intake temperature : 30 ℃
Discharge temperature : 20 ℃
Difference = 10 degrees, NORMAL
▶How to check
①
As long as water drops from the drain hose and air from the unit feels cool enough , the A/S is working fine.
(If the size of the place where AC is installed is larger than what the AC can cover, cold air might appear insufficient)
※ Difference between discharge temperature and intake temperature is normally 8 degrees or higher.
E.g.) How to calculate area that an AC can cover.
If the cooling area is 4000W,
mark cooling area=4000W ÷ 123W/ ㎡ = 32.5 ㎡
② Please find a thick and thin pipe in the outdoor unit. It the thick pipe appear cold, dews from on the pipe, or water is drained,
then the AC is working properly.
③ Gas pressure of an AC normally ranges from 55 to 60 pound. (with the standard of 25 ℃ )
