Nigerian Team Emerges Winner in the Regional Draw of LG Life Tastes Good Cooking Championship

Winners of the team category in the national  draw of the LG Life Tastes Good Championship, Ms Okolo Obiageli and Ms Ehana Miriam have done Nigeria proud as they have again emerged winners in the regional draw of the competition held in Dubai.

Obiageli and Miriam, have put no one in doubt in proving their cooking competence in Nigerian recipes, as they won both at the zonal and national levels of the competition in Nigeria and have raised the bar by winning the regional draw to qualify for the global competition scheduled to take place in South Korea from 27^th to 30^th September 2010.

Speaking at a press briefing to welcome the winners, the Marketing Director, Home Appliance Division LG Electronics West Africa Operations, Mr. Michael Ha said, ‘We consider this winning a great honour not just to the winners but to the entire Nigerian women for their contribution towards inculcating the art of cooking quality and delightful recipes as well as transferring such culinary skills to the younger generation and also to LG Electronics, for creating an enabling platform for the achievement of this feat’.

He further said that the Life Tastes Good Championship which made its debut in Nigeria in August 2010 is a unique and international cooking competition that affords amateur chefs the opportunity to showcase their cooking skills on national, regional and global levels by adding innovation to the everyday affair of preparing delicious and nutritious meals.

“More importantly, we are pleased with the performance of the Nigerian team as they have shown that Nigerian delicacies can comfortably compete with their foreign counterpart which supports our aim of initiating the competition.

On their part, the excited duo, said they are immensely grateful to LG Electronics for the opportunity given them to travel outside the country as Miriam said that it was her first time of travelling outside Nigeria and also affording them the opportunity of showcasing their cooking skills in a foreign country.

Responding on the choice of dishes that made them winners, the duo replied that they prepared Crème of Chicken soup, Rice Bolognaise & Plantain and Tasty Fiesta.

They thanked the management of LG Electronics for being a brand that lives up to its promise and assured all that they are poised to bring greater glory to Nigeria by winning again in the team category of the global championship taking place in South Korea.

Through this premier culinary competition, LG showcases its leading cooking appliances that deliver the gourmet taste of professional chefs in the comfort of your home.

This year’s championship themed “World on Your Table” is targeted at the use of LG’s Solar Dome Light wave oven in preparing delicious meals. Participants at this year’s competition focused on cooking a three-course meal without compromising taste and nutrition.
