Have you been there trying to figure out how to keep the TV, AC or speaker in your home in good condition but unsure as to how to go about it? That point where you don’t know whether to use a dry napkin or a damp one? Or whether you should blow dust off the surface or just use a brush? All these and several other questions are some of the things that come to mind when you are trying to keep your TV, AC or speaker in good working condition.
With the right guidance, you don’t have to subject yourself to this confusion when it’s basic cleaning that your TV, AC or sound system is in need of. If it’s something technical or complex, you can reach out to a team of experts here but if it’s something basic, there are somethings you can do for yourself as far as cleaning your TV, AC and speaker is concerned. Without further ado, let’s examine them.
If care is not taken, different things can seem to reduce the display quality of your LG TV. One of such things is dust. It can seem to reduce the brightness and colour depth of your TV when the truth of the matter is that your LG TV is still as bright and sharp as it was when you first bought it. In order to correct this, here are a few things you can do:
First, unplug your TV from the power source so you don’t damage it or get electrocuted in the process of cleaning.
Get a soft dry cloth. The micro-fiber cloth that some phones and tablets do come with can work for this. That said, do not spray liquid directly on the surface of the TV screen. That’s a recipe for electrocution.
Then, wipe gently. I repeat, wipe gently. This will help ensure you don’t scratch the surface of your TV screen. You can adopt the circle motion strategy as this will help you hit each area from several angles in a single swipe.
Now, a word of caution. Be mindful of spots that might be difficult to clean due to one reason or the other. Apply wisdom in those areas so you don’t cause additional issues and don’t forget to reach out here if you need professional technical assistance. You can get more guidance on cleaning and installation on our support page here.
What’s a good sound if it’s coming from a dirty speaker? And how do you clean a dirty speaker if you don’t know its components? To properly clean your LG speaker, you need to know what its components are, and part of that component is the cabinet of the speaker. What is the cabinet of your speaker made of? Is it wood or plastic or what? If it’s wood, what kind of wood? If it’s a different material, what version of that material? With this knowledge, you will be able to know what to use and what not to as different substances will have different effects on the look of your speaker’s exterior and well as its internal performance.
Once that is sorted, you can go ahead and clean your LG speaker this way:
Disconnect it from its power source before starting. As you already know, this is to prevent an incidence of electric shock.
Then, if the grill is removable, you can remove it. This will enable you to easily clean the interior parts of the speaker. You can clean the grill based on the kind of material it is made of. If it is made of fabric, what you need to do is to roll a lint roller over the grill to get rid of dust and dirt from the fabric. But in a situation where the grill is made of metal or plastic, you should use a wet wipe designed for electronic equipment to wipe the grill clean.
For speakers with grills that cannot be removed, a can of air is what you will use to access these parts. With the blow of air from the can, you can get rid of dust and debris from the inside as well as from the outside. However, if you do not have a can of air, you can get a soft brush such as a paint or makeup brush that has not been used. You can use it to dust the cone of the speaker and other exposed parts.
And as far as wiping goes, you can use a slightly damp microfiber cloth to carry out justice on the outer part of the speaker allowing it to retain its glossy or original look.
One of the joys of having an air-conditioner is to have it serve you for long without leaking water or making unnecessary noise while cooling as it should. To a large extent, this will be so if you give the needed attention to your AC as at when due. Part of that attention is cleaning it the right way. For this post, the assumption is that you are using a wall air-conditioner like one of the LG air-conditioners we have here. To clean it, here is a list of some of the things you should do:
First, disconnect it from the power source. Then, brush and shake the dust filter of the indoor unit so as to get rid of the dust there. If they are very dirty, you can clean them with warm soapy water, rinse and dry them thoroughly before putting them back.
Aside from the filter, if the louvres (the oscillating blades that direct the airflow) are removable, you can use a vacuum cleaner or dry cloth on them. You should ensure it is kept in a clear space where you won’t need to be getting rid of dust, weeds or cobwebs regularly.
To clean it, a vacuum cleaner can come in handy as it can help get rid of dust from its inside. But as far as opening up the outdoor unit for a thorough cleaning is concerned, we advise that you get professional help. You can find one here.
And to serve as a reminder, please, ensure your LG AC is disconnected from the power source before you start cleaning.
Cleaning your TV, ACand speaker is not a one size fits all thing. The requirement of your appliance might be peculiar compared to another’s but be that as it may, it all still boils down to the same procedure as outlined in this post; however, if you require professional assistance, you can reach out to our team of experts here.
