LG Monitor - How to set the DFC/SES function

DFC(Digital Fine Contrast) is unique contrast improvement technology of LG Electronics and it is an auto brightness function sort of like DCR(Dynamic Contrast Ratio).
SES(Smart Energy Saving) is the screen brightness compensation function that uses the low power consumption standard to reduce the energy consumption.

Causes and Symptoms

  • Monitor screen’s brightness is automatically adjusted and it is little uncomfortable.
  • If the DFC or SES function is activated, then the screen might flicker as a result.
  • Did you check if DFC or SES is turned on in Picture settings?
Note
  • Energy saving data value may vary depending on the panel and the panel supplier.
  • When selecting the SMART ENERGY SAVING option to high or low, the monitor brightness also can get lowered or raised due to the source.
  • Monitor OSD(On Screen Display) may differ from the what is shown in the user manual.

Deactivating the DFC(Digital Fine Contrast) function.

① At the bottom center of the product, press the joystick button to open the main menu.

② Move to the right to select [Settings].

③ Select [Picture].

④ Select [Picture Adjust].

⑤ Select Off in [DFC].

How to turn off dfc function

Deactivating the SES(SMART ENERGY SAVING) function.

② Move to the right to select [Settings].

③ Select [General].

④ Select [SMART ENERGY SAVING].

⑤ Select [Off] to deactivate the function.
