[LG Air Conditioner Smell] I smell something burning.

Troubleshooting

Try this

Did you use the air conditioner for the first time since a long time ago?

If you use it again for the first time since long ago, then during the early phase of operation, as the system that has been dormant for a long time operates, dust smells, toxic smells or burning smells can occur temporarily.
Open the window and ventilate the air for some time before use.

Opening the window

Check if the power cord is accurately plugged into the outlet.

If the power cord is loosely connected, then heat can get generated in the power cord or outlet, as a result, there can be a burning smell.
Accurately plug in the power cord one more time.

Reconnect the power cord properly.

Do you use a power strip?

Check if the power strip capacity is sufficient or it is very old.
Do not use a power strip.
Plug it in directly into wall outlets.

Use a voltage of at least 16 A [amps] 250 V [volts]. Please refrain from using multiple tabs. Please connect it to a wall outlet.

If the power strip capacity is low and many products are connected to it for use at the same time, then the air conditioner might turn off during use.
When using a power strip, make sure that it is a dedicated one with at least 20A for air conditioner. Make sure it is used for the air conditioner alone.
Use a minimum 16A and 250V power strip with a cable thickness of 2.5mm (0.03in).

Warning!

If the rubber burning smell persists, then turn on the circuit breaker and have it inspected by a professional service manager.
