LG Air Conditioner - Smell The air conditioner suddenly smells awful

During cooling operation, the heat exchanger inside the system cools moisture in the air, thus generating condensed water.
This is similar to dew forming near a glass of cold water in summer.
When the heat exchanger is wet, due to external environmental factors, odors can remain or fungus can be generated.
In this case, the air vent hole might smell very unpleasant.
This is similar to the bad moldy smell on a wet floor cloth that has not been washed for a long time.

Try this

By setting the target temperature to 20℃(68°F) or below, you can make the cooling effect of the heat exchanger last longer and thus improving the unpleasant smells.
In addition, after cooling operation, switch to fan mode and run fan operation for about 5 minutes to dry moisture in the heat exchanger and reduce the smells.
Even when the filter sucking in the indoor air is polluted, the vent hole can smell bad.
According to the user manual, clean the suction filter with water and dry it in the shade until odors in the filter is evaporated.
And if the odor persists, then you must disassemble and wash internal parts.
