How do I connect TFP5/TFP8/TFP9 and use Plug & on TONE-TFP9?
Causes and Symptoms
- I am not familiar with connecting the TONE-TFP5 / TFP8 / TFP9 models and using Plug ＆ Wireless on TONE-TFP9.
- If you use TONE Free for the first time, it may be difficult to connect it.
- If you use TONE Free for the first time, you may have difficulty using the app and the Plug & Wireless feature.
Try this
To connect TONE-TFP5 / TFP8 / TFP9
1. Turn on Bluetooth in your mobile phone's settings menu.
2. Place the earbuds in the cradle and touch and hold the touchpad on the left or right earbud for 3-5 seconds.
3. Tap [Fast Pair] on the top of your mobile phone to connect.
To connect and launch the TONE Free app
1. Open Google Play or Apple Store on Android or iOS.
2. Enter "LG TONE Free" in the search bar
3. Download and install
4. Connect TONE-TFP5/ TFP8/TFP9 and launch the app
5. Change the settings for software updates, equalizer, touchpad, etc. on the TONE Free app.
To use Plug ＆ Wireless on TONE-TFP9
1. Slide the Plug and Wireless mode switch on the charging case to the right to activate the mode.
2. Open the charging case to connect the charging case and earbuds.
3. Connect the USB Type C side of the USB C to AUX cable to the charging case.
4. Connect the AUX side of the USB C to AUX cable to the desired device.
A simple way to connect TONE-TFP5/8/9
1. Turn on Bluetooth in the settings menu of your mobile phone.
2. With the charging case open, place the earbuds in the cradle.
Press and hold the touchpad on the left or right earbud for 3-5 seconds until the LED on the charging case blinks blue.
3. If a [Fast Pair] pop-up window appears at the top of your smartphone screen, tap it to connect.
If it does not appear, select your LG TONE Free model in the Bluetooth menu on your smartphone.
To use Plug ＆ Wireless on TONE-TFP9
1. Slide the Plug and Wireless mode switch on the charging case to the right to activate the mode.
2. Open the charging case to connect the charging case and earbuds. Once it’s connected, the green battery indicator light turns on and off for 3 seconds.
3. Connect the USB Type C side of the USB C to AUX cable to the charging case.
4. Connect the AUX side of the USB C to AUX cable to the desired device.
※ If you can’t connect your TONE Free, reset it and try again.
