What is a visual angle?
It refers to the vertical and horizontal angle at which the brightness of certain criteria(1/10 of the contrast ratio) is changed on the front of displays.
Criteria of visual angle depending on the panel type
-
TN Panel : Vertical visual angle(160 deg) and the horizontal visual angle(170 deg). High color saturation, and color reversion due to the visual angle.
Especially, when seen from the bottom/top, it can look black. - IPS Panel : Vertical visual angle(178 deg) and the horizontal visual angle(178 deg). No color quality change due to the visual angle.
- MVA Panel : Vertical visual angle(178 deg) and the horizontal visual angle(178 deg). Wide visual angle but poor black and R color characteristics.
