How can I set the timer for on/off?

 Symptom

Do you want to turn on or off automatically at certain hours?    

You can set TV for scheduled on/off.

※ In order to use this function, current time should be set.

If current time is set to “user setting” mode, reset the time after TV is turned off.

How to fix

1. How to set turning on time

[Menu] → [Time] → [On time]

- Repeat : [Once], [Select day of the week], [Daily], [Mon. to Fri.], [Mon. to Sat.], [Sat. to Sun.], [Sun.], [Off]

- Hour, minute : Set “on time”: hour and minute.

- Input : Select input mode which you want to watch after TV is turned on.

(When using set-top box, select the input mode in which set-top box is connected to TV)

- Channel  : Select the channel which you want to watch when TV is turned on.

This works only when the input mode is set to TV and channel selection can be made among DTV/TV/DTV cable/TV cable. (When using set-top box, channel selection is impossible.)

- Volume : Set the volume for the time when TV is turned on. (0~100)

※ While it is set as HDMI, Component, and External Input, TV turns on automatically, but if the peripheral (eg. Set-top box) is off, it will display “No signal” after 15minutes of display, TV will automatically be turned off.

2012~2013 smart TV

[Home] or [Setting menu] → [Setting] → [Time] → [On time]

- Repeat : [Once], [Select day of the week], [Daily], [Mon. to Fri.], [Mon. to Sat.], [Sat. to Sun.], [Sun.], [Off]

- Hour, minute : Set “on time”: hour and minute.

- Input : Select input mode which you want to watch after TV is turned on.

(When using set-top box, select the input mode in which set-top box is connected to TV)

- Channel  : Select the channel which you want to watch when TV is turned on.

This works only when the input mode is set to TV and channel selection can be made among DTV/TV/DTV cable/TV cable. (When using set-top box, channel selection is impossible.)

- Volume : Set the volume for the time when TV is turned on. (0~100)

※ With the input mode which is set to HDMI, component or external input, “no signal” appears when the external device (set-top box, etc.) connected to the relevant input mode is turned off even though TV has been turned on according to the setting. If “no signal” continues for more than 15 min., TV is turned off automatically.

2014~2016 webOS smart TV

[Home] or [Setting menu] → [Setting] → [General] → [Timer] → [On time]

- Time : Set the time when you want to turn on TV.

- Repeat : Set the day when you want to turn on TV.

- External input : Set the input mode which you want to watch when TV is turned on.

(When using a set-top box, select an external input mode which is connected to the set-top box.)

- Channel : Setting a channel is possible only when the input mode is set to TV, and you can choose from DTV/TV/DTV cable/TV cable. (When using a set-top box, channel setting is not available.)

- Volume : Set the volume of sound for the time when TV is turned on automatically.

※ TV auto off

TV is turned off automatically when there is no change made to TV for about 2 hours after TV has been turned on automatically.

This is to prevent TV from being turned on for a long time without its user after it has been turned on automatically.

2. How to set off time

[Menu] → [Setting] → [Time] → [Off time]

- Repeat : Choose the cycle; [Once], [Daily], [Mon. to Fri.], [Mon. to Sat.], [Sat. to Sun.], [Sun.], [Off].

- Hour, minute : Set on time, hour and minute.

※ When using a set-top box,  TV is turned off on preset time but set-top box is not turned off simultaneously.
