[LG Dios dishwasher] There is water left on the dishes even after Dry has finished.

Troubleshooting

Is water still left on your dishes even after you ran the Dry cycle of the dishwasher?
Do you feel that the dry function has become weaker since the first time you used it?

Causes and Symptom

  • Are you placing your dishes so that they overlap each other in the dish basket?
  • Dishes made of wood or plastic are poorly dried.
  • The rinsing agent is not enough.

Dishes in the dishwasher are dried in 3 steps.
Firstly, the rinsing agent lowers the surface tension of the water so as to let the water drops flow off and reduce the remaining water.
Next, the hot vapor coming from the nozzle meets the cold internal temperature and makes water droplets on the wall, removing water left on the dishes.
Finally, when the wash is completed and the door of the dishwasher is opened, dry air from outside comes in and dries any remaining water.
Note that depending on the indoor temperature and humidity, and the material that your dishes are made of, complete dry may take one to three hours.

Try this

Do you see a light on the display lit to inform you to supply rinsing agent?

➔ Correctly place the dishes in the dish basket.

Running the Tub Clean on your dishwasher
① Open the lid of the rinse agent container.
② Put the rinsing agent in the plastic container.
③ Slowly insert the rinsing agent up to the line labeled MAX.
Hasty insertion may create bubbles and overflow.
If the rinsing agent goes in smoothly, gently push the door of the dishwasher up and down.
Fill the rinse container with the rinse
How to improve drying
Selecting the high temperature dry option may improve drying when you use the dishwasher.

Are any dishes made of wood or plastic dried less effectively than others?

➔ Depending on the nature of the material, more water may remain on these dishes than on others.
Let the dishes have at least 3 hours of natural drying.

Dishes made of ceramic, glass, or metal dry well as the heat coming from the Rinse cycle of the dishwasher is slowly lost.
However, as wooden dishes absorb lots of water and the plastics cool down fast, they may retain relatively large amounts of water.
Plastic or wooden dishes are not suitable for washing in the dishwasher.

Ceramic bowls dry well, but plastic and wooden bowls don't dry well

Are the dishes in the dish basket overlapping each other?

➔ Make sure that the dishes do not overlap each other.

Overlapping parts of the dishes may lead to more water remaining.
Ensure that plates are standing in the grooves of the dish basket so that overlapping is avoided.
Make sure that the hollow parts of bowls, cups, pots and pans face downward.
At this time, slightly tilt any bowls with an indented base to allow better drying.
