[LG Monitor] No power.

Troubleshooting

If the monitor is not powered up, then insert the power cord into outer position of the power strip or connect other electronics to see if the power strip works properly.

In addition, when you make the monitor adapter or power cord connection too tight for the purpose of cable arrangement, then even small movement can make the connection loose or slip out.

Firmly press the connection one more time to make a good connection.

Causes

  • Power strip does not work properly.
  • You did not connect the power cord and the monitor adapter correctly.
  • The monitor screen is off as the power saving mode is on.

Try this

Does the power strip work without failures?

→ Connect a mobile phone charter or other small size electronics to see if it works properly.

If other electronics connected to the power strip fail to work properly, then check if the power strip power switch is turned on.

Power strip power switch: Power off, Power strip power switch: Turn on. ※ Be sure to check the product’s specification as it may vary depending on the country and region.

If there is still no power, then replace the power strip with a new one or connect the power strip into other position on the wall outlet.

Did you connect the power cord and the monitor adapter correctly?

→ Check if the power cord is correctly connected to the power strip. Check if the monitor adapter is accurately inserted into the back of the monitor.

Each monitor product has a different power level needed.
If you connect the monitor adapter to similar port, then due to mismatched voltage, there might be no power or the screen might have a problem.
Connect the monitor adapter included in the basic package provided when you purchased it into the correct position.

Check if the monitor setting menu screen is displayed.

→ Press the joystick button below the monitor to check if the settings menu appears on the screen.

If the power is on, but the Settings menu does not appear on the screen, then have it inspected by an LG Electronics technician.

Joystick type: Press the joystick button below the monitor to check if the settings menu appears on the screen.

If the Setting menu appears on the monitor, then check the cable or PC connected to the monitor.

Check the cable signal condition of the device connected to the monitor and check the spec or setting of external device.

→ Check if the pins are damaged or have foreign objects. If they do, replace the cable with an authentic cable.

DVI, HDMI, DP, C type cable: Check if internal metal pins are bent or there are alien substances. External graphic card: Incase that an external graphic card is available, Connect the monitor to the external graphic card.
