How can I back up files on LG G4?
LG G4 LG BACKUP
With the Backup application preloaded on your device, you can backup and restore most of your device's data, including downloaded and
pre-installed applications, bookmarks, calendar entries, contacts, home screen settings, and system settings.
Note: Some Settings , Menus , or Icons may differ from that of your device depending on your software version and wireless
service provider.
① From the Home screen, tap
Apps > Settings
> General tab > Backup & reset
> LG Backup
② Tap Backup & restore .
③ Tap Back up data .
④ Select Internal storage or SD card (if installed) as the location to store your backup.
Note: Tap
Menu
, then tap
Set Password
to set a default password for every backup or
Lock backup file
to set a password
for the current backup file being created.
⑤ Checkmark
the items you would like to backup, and tap
START
.
Note: All backups saved on internal storage will be deleted during a factory data reset. Move backups to another storage.
Some items may not restore when different version or device used for restore.
⑥ Tap OK to continue, and tap DONE when backup is completed.
If you selected Internal storage for you backup location, your backup (and all files) will be deleted from your device after a factory data reset.
Before the factory reset we recommend you move or copy the backup files to a PC.
① Connect your device to a PC using a MicroUSB cable (you may use the cable attached to your LG charger).
② Once connected, you may be prompted on your device to select a USB connection type. Select Media sync (MTP) .
③ On the PC, open My computer/Computer > [Your device name] > Internal storage > LGBackup .
④ Right click on the backup file ending with .lbf . Then select Copy .
⑤ Select a location on the PC to save the file. Right click your mouse in that location and select Paste to save the backup file to your PC.

③ On the PC, right click your mouse on the backup file ending with .lbf that you previously saved onto your PC. Then select Copy .
④ Open My computer/Computer > [Your device name] > Internal storage > LGBackup .
⑤ Right click your mouse in that location and select Paste to save the backup file to your device.
① From the Home screen, tap

② Tap Restore from backup .
③ Select the file from the Backup list that contains the data you wish to restore.
④ Checkmark
the item(s) you wish to restore. Tap the arrow
to expand each section and select individual items to restore.
Tap NEXT to continue.
Note: All associated data on device from selected items will be deleted and replaced with data from the back file you have selected.
Some items may not restore when different version or device used for backup.
⑤ Tap OK to continue with restoration. When restore is complete, tap DONE and your device will automatically reboot.
Use LG Backup to copy data between compatible devices using Wi-Fi.
Note: Both devices must have more than 30% battery life to copy data.
① From the Home screen on both devices,
tap
Apps > Settings
> General tab > Backup & reset
> LG Backup > Copy data to new device

② Place both devices next to each other.
③ On the device you want to setup, tap Receive data .
④ On the device that has the setup you want to use, tap Copy data .
⑤ Tap START on both devices.
⑥ The devices will attempt to connect.
⑦ On the device you want to setup, tap OK .
Note: All data on internal storage will be deleted and replaced with data from old device. Device will restart after all data is received.
⑧ On the device that has the setup you want to use, checkmark the item(s) you wish to copy.
Tap the arrow to expand each section and select individual items to copy. Tap NEXT to continue.
⑨ Tap DONE on both devices once complete. The device receiving back up will restart.
