Is the icemaker switched off?
➔ Cause
Ice will not be made if the icemaker is switched off.
➔ Try this
Switch ON the icemaker so it operates.
If the ‘Lock’ feature is activated, press and hold the ‘Lock’ button for 3 seconds to
unlock.
Once the control panel is unlocked, the Ice On/Off button can be pressed to turn on/off the
operation of the icemaker.
Is the icemaker not making ice although it has been 3-4 days since installation?
It takes between 12 hours and two days for the first ice cubes to be made. The duration depends
on the temperature of food stored inside the freezer.
It takes two to three days for the ice bin to get filled.
※ If ice is not made after the initial three to fours days, a product
inspection is necessary. Kindly contact customer service.
Is the shut-off valve or the valve connecting the water supply closed?
➔ Ensure that the valve below the sink, which connects the water supply, is open.
The valve should be turned so that it aligns with the connected pipe.
Water is supplied to the dispenser and ice maker once the water supply valve is open.
Is the ice in the ice storage bin clumping together?
➔ Cause
If the ice cubes in the ice bin are not used for a long time, the ice will shrink or clump
together, preventing proper dispensing.
This occurs due to the normal phenomenon of ice sublimating (evaporating) and the water between
the ice cubes causing them to stick together.
➔ Try this
If the ice inside the ice bin sticks together, remove the bin and shake it to separate the
ice.
Clumps of ice that do not separate should be discarded. Clean the ice bin and use once it is
completely dry.
(Ice inside the ice bin may clump if you leave the ice bin outside the freezer or leave the
refrigerator door open.)
If you are not planning to use the icemaker for a long period, remove the ice inside the ice bin and turn off the ice maker.
➔ Unlock the control panel and long press the Ice On/Off button for three seconds to turn off the icemaker.
If you will be using ice again, turn the icemaker on one or two days before use.
Lower the temperature settings of the fridge in summer and make sure the doors are kept well closed.
➔ Especially in the summer or rainfall season, keeping the freezer doors open for a long time, or not closing the doors properly may allow heat and moist air to enter the fridge. This may cause ice to melt or clump together.
- Tall apartments or houses at high altitudes may experience low water pressure.
- When large amounts of water are used simultaneously in different units of a multifamily residence, the instantaneous water pressure may drop.
- Weak flow will be observed in locations where the water pressure is below the minimum water pressure of 1.5 kgf/cm²
- This issue is relevant to plumbed-in refrigerators. The UF filter is used.
- For plumbed-in refrigerators, the volume of water dispensed depends on the water pressure of the installation environment. Therefore, if the water pressure is low, the dispensed volume will be reduced.
- The dispensed volume is 1.4 liters per minute at a water pressure of 4.5kgf/cm². The guaranteed range of water pressure for our appliances is 1.5~8.5 kgf/cm².
➔ Try this
It is not advised to install the water dispenser refrigerator in an environment where the water pressure is below 1.5kgf/cm². Should installation in such an environment be necessary, please purchase a diaphragm booster pump.
Do some drops of water fall after using the water dispenser?
Some drops of water may fall from the water dispenser after use.
This is the same phenomenon as water dripping after closing the tap.
Wait a second or two before moving your cup from the dispenser to prevent residual water from
dripping to the tray.
Do some drops of water fall after using the ice dispenser?
- Ice left in the ice dispenser’s passageway may melt and drip.
- When dispensing cubed ice, use a cup with a wide opening and place the cup near the dispenser to prevent ice from spilling out of the cup.
➔ Cause
Due to mineral substances in the water, white precipitate may form when the water evaporates or
freezes.
This is the same phenomenon that occurs when mineral water is frozen or boiled.
➔ Try this
Use a clean cloth to wipe white substances off the dispenser outlet.
The white substances are minerals that have remained after purified water was evaporated.
Managing the internal water tank
- Only use purified/distilled water to fill up the internal water tank.
- Foreign substances may enter the water tank during refills, so please clean the tank and its components once a week.
- Even if purified/distilled water is used, if ice is not dispensed often or the internal components are not cleaned, foreign substances may be observed in the water.
- Disassemble the water tank, including the lid and internal components, and wash them in lukewarm water.
- Using the water tank without cleaning it is not a hygienic practice and dirt residue may occur.
- Refilling the internal water tank with liquid other than purified/distilled water, especially those with additives (such as juice, soda), will cause the formation of unwanted substances or cause malfunctioning of the appliance.
※ Non-Plumbing : A water supply system where the fridge is manually filled using the internal water tank, instead of being directly connected to the plumbing. The water in the tank is used to make in-door ice or is dispensed through the dispenser.
The water could taste different compared to your previously used dispenser.
If you previously used a purifier from a different company, you may notice a difference in taste
of water to your current purifier.
Different companies use varying raw materials in their water filters, which can affect the
taste.
If you use groundwater, you may notice a smell in the water due to substances in the groundwater.
Nitrate nitrogen and algae components in groundwater can cause a smell in the water. Groundwater is not recommended for use as it can quickly clog the water filter.
If you haven't used the dispenser for a long time, you may notice a strange odor.
If you haven't used the water dispenser for a long time and are starting to use it again, replace
the water filter with a new one.
After replacing the water filter, dispense cold water and ambient water for 5-10 minutes each.
In the summer, you may notice a smell of disinfectant.
During the summer, if excessive chlorine is used for disinfection at the water treatment plant, there may be a temporary smell of disinfectant.
※ If you experience any inconvenience due to reasons other than those mentioned above, please contact customer support.
Check if the Craft Ice button on the control panel is illuminated.
If the LED indicator is turned off, long press the Craft Ice button for three seconds to turn the
feature on.
Select the desired mode (6 ICE, 3 ICE). After five seconds of idle time, the mode changes and
the LED indicator is illuminated.
The Craft Ice Maker automatically makes three ice balls at a time and stores them in the ice
bin.
The total number of craft ice balls made per day can be set to three or six. (6 ICE mode is the
default mode.)
- In 6 ICE mode, a total of six spheres are made per day. (Three at a time, twice a day)
- In 3 ICE mode, a total of three spheres are made per day.
If you would like more ice, select the 6 ICE mode. Ice will appear clearer if you select the 3 ICE mode.
Ice made by the Craft ice maker is stored in the ice bin. The ice bin holds about 20 to 25 round ice. When the ice bin is full, with one complete layer of ice spheres and part of a second layer, the ice maker will stop making more ice. It will continue making ice again once the amount of ice in the bin decreases.
Ensure that the ice bin is correctly assembled.
The handle of the ice bin should face the front. If the ice bin is inserted incorrectly, ice may not be produced.
Noise may occur as the ice made by the craft ice maker falls into the ice bin.
Removing the rubber pad inside the ice bin will amplify this noise.
When cleaning the rubber pad, use a neutral detergent and ensure it is completely dry before
placing it back inside the ice bin.
Was the refrigerator installed very recently?
➔ It takes some time for the refrigerator to generate air cold enough to make ice.
Ice will be made after some time has passed. Cold air is generated within 1 to 2 hours after
plugging in the power cord.
After its initial installation, the refrigerator operates to cool the contents inside.
Once the temperature is sufficiently low, the refrigerator will start making ice.
It usually takes about 3 hours to freeze water at 20°C (68°F), but in the case of initial
installation, it can take up to two days for the refrigerator to start making ice. Please be
patient.
