If the filter is clogged with lint, the warm air cannot escape, making it difficult to dry clothes properly and thereby lengthening the drying time.

If the filter is clean but the exhaust pipe blockage light still comes on, the problem is in the exhaust pipe, not inside the dryer.
The exhaust pipe may be clogged with lint, or the exhaust pipe may be kinked, preventing air from flowing out smoothly.
