[LG air conditioner noise] A ting/clicking noise (irregular noise) is heard from a wall mounted air conditioner

Troubleshooting

In the case of wall-mounted products, power is supplied to the outdoor unit through the power relay of the indoor unit.
It turns the indoor unit relay on every 2 hours to execute the outdoor unit preheating function.
The outdoor unit preheating function is the function to operate the compressor of the outdoor unit smoothly even under low temperature outdoor conditions
and prevent the compressor from being damaged.
The indoor unit relay is turned on for the outdoor unit preheating operation even if the power is turned off, and at this time, relay operating noises such as ting, tick,
click and metal ‘thrumming’ noises may be heard from the indoor unit.

A similar example

Just as with preheating a vehicle in winter, preparation for operating the air conditioner is necessary.
This is to maintain air conditioner product performance and secure reliability by increasing the temperature of the refrigeration oil [oil] to improve viscosity and fluidity,
protect the compressor and prevent compressor abrasion.

※ Although it is not always in an environment with drastically low outside temperatures as in winter,
proper temperature and preheating process are required for optimum product operation.
