[LG air conditioner noise] The air conditioner generates louder wind sounds than usual

Troubleshooting

Causes and Symptoms

  • You set [Fan Speed] to strong.
  • Lots of dusts are accumulated in the filter.

Try this

Did you try to adjust [Fan Speed]?

➔ Lower [Fan Speed].

If you set the fan sped to strong, then cooling or heating will be stronger thus there will be loud noises.
If it interferes with your daily life, then lower it to weak.

Is the filter cleaned?

➔ Clean the dust filter.

If there are lots of dusts in the filter, air circulations will fail, and the indoor unit might generate wind sounds.

※ It is a good idea for your health to clean the filter once every one or two month depending on the location of use.
1. Push the hook at the edge of suction grill inward as shown in the figure.
Be careful to make sure the filter does not fall off from the grill.
If there is an elevation grill mounted in it, then check if the elevation grill is completely stopped and then safely remove the filter from the grill.
When removing the filter, be careful to make sure that the elevation grill does not slip out from the wire.
2. When separating the filter only, grab the handle and pull it downward as shown in the figure.
Lower the filter to the end as it is a slide type.

① Clean it with a vacuum cleaner or a soft brush.
② If it is severely contaminated, wash it with water using a neutral detergent.
(Use water with temperature below 72℉.)
③ Dry it in a shade with no fire or direct sunlight.
※ If you grab the both sides of the filter and shake it, then it can damage the filter.

4. Filter assembly

① Assembly is done in the reverse order of disassembly. When assembling the filter, make sure to mount the filter in the guides on the both sides of the grill and completely insert it to the end.
