LG Electronics sponsored launching UJApp, an application developed by ApplikableTechnologies tailored for the University of Jordan students. The application which is compatible with smartphones and tablets, was launched through a 2 day event held at the University’s campus.
UJApp is designed to offer students access to course syllabi, course schedules, university news, emails, GPA calculation, the student’s academic status, and a chance for students to interact with other UJApp users whether fellow students or members of faculty directly or through the social network platforms the application provides.
LG Electronics Levant Brand Marketing Manager, Mr. Firas Shabaneh explained that LG Electronics’ support for this launch is one that stems from its ongoing aims to contribute to the development of all vibrant sectors of the community. In this particular case, the new application echoes the Company’s strive to contribute towards the advancement of education, as it serves to convert university campuses to e-learning avenues as well as give students access to the University’s data from their smartphone. From another angle, the application is set to effectively link the sectors of education and technology together, all towards the resolve of converting Jordan into an e-knowledge based community at large.
Mr. Shabaneh further added that this launch was only one of many sponsored by LG Electronics, as the Company is always keen on giving its support to educational, developmental, technological, and entrepreneurial efforts led by youth. He further pointed out that the Kingdom can benefit from the energies of cadres working in this field, as they can spearhead Jordan’s development by pushing developments in technology, mobile applications, and education forward, which in turn, will have positive effects on local and regional economic growth.

This high acceptance rate is attributed to the many features the application provides, as it has been proven to be a time saving tool, enabling faculty members and students alike to access information and communicate with speed, ease, and comfort, all from their mobile phones.
The application is compatible with Android, Java, iOS, BlackBerry, Windows, and Symbian operating systems. Furthermore, the new application can be downloaded from Google Play, Apple Store, and the University of Jordan website for free.
