[LG TV] Setting a Power On/Off Timer

Repair

  • You can set timers to power on/off your TV at set times.
  • Before setting the timers, be sure to set the current time.
  • If the power is not connected, the timers are not available, so be sure to check the power connection status.
  • If a set-top box is used, only the TV turns on at the reservation time and the set-top box does not turn on.

※ The setting method may vary depending on the model.

Try this

To set the [Power On/Off] timer in Settings

➔ In the [Year 2022 webOS22]

Press the setting button on your remote control and select [All Settings] → [General] → [System] → [Time & Timer] → [Timers].

1. After turning on the TV, press the [Settings] button on the remote control.
From [Settings], select [All Settings].

2. From [Standard], select [System].

1. Select [Power On Timer].

2. Change to [On] if it is [Off].
Adjust the Time, Timer Repeat, Input Mode, Channel, or Volume settings.

Press the setting button on your remote control and select [All Settings] → [General] → [Time] → [Timers].

2. Select [Time] from [General].

  • If the device automatically turns off at a certain time: Try setting the Power-off time to [Off].
    If it is not set to Off, the timer may trigger the power-off, which may be mistaken for a malfunction.
    How to set: Select Menu (Detailed Settings) → Time → Power Off Timer → Off.
  • If the device automatically turns on at a specified time, try setting the Power On Time to [Off].
    You can use it as a morning call or set a power-on timer.
    How to set: Select Menu (Detailed Settings) → Time → Power On Time → Off
    If the product turned on through the Power On Time setting and the user does nothing, the product will turn off automatically 2 hours or 4 hours later.
Note

Enable the option Power Off 2 Hours Later

This function automatically turns the TV off if there is no TV remote control operation for 2 hours after the TV turns on automatically.
This function prevents the TV from operating for a long time in the absence of the user after the ON function has been activated.
※ Depending on the model, the TV may turn off automatically after 4 hours of inactivity.
How to set Power On/Off Timer in Settings

[2021 WebOS6.0] Press the setting button on the TV remote and select [All Settings] → [General] → [System] → [Time & Timer] → [Timers].

[2019 WebOS4.5] Press the setting button on the TV remote and select [All Settings] → [General] → [Timers].

[2018 WebOS4.0] Press the setting button on the TV remote and select [All Settings] → [General] → [Timers].

[2017 WebOS3.5] Press the setting button on the TV remote and select [All Settings] → [General] → [Timers].

[2013 Netcast] Press the setting button on your remote control and select [Settings] → [Time] → [Power On Time]/[Power Off Time].
