[LG refrigerator condensation] Condensation appears on the door gasket.

Troubleshooting

Does condensation appear on the door gasket in the refrigerator door or the home bar?

In summer with high indoor humidity, when you open and close the refrigerator, moisture meets cold air and condensation may form on the door gasket.
It is the same phenomenon that sees condensation appear on a cold water bottle when it is just taken out of the refrigerator.
This is a normal phenomenon that occurs in the summer with high humidity, so wipe off water from the surface of the refrigerator or door gasket with a dry towel.

Causes and Symptoms

  • It is the rainy season, so indoor humidity is high.
  • The refrigerator door is not closed properly.
  • The door gasket is contaminated with a foreign object so that it doesn't adhere well to the refrigerator door.

Try this

Are you using the refrigerator in a place with high humidity or near a window?

➔ It is recommended that you install the refrigerator in a well-ventilated place with an ambient temperature ranging between 5℃ and 43℃ and low humidity.

Condensation may form on the door gasket if the refrigerator is installed in a place where moist air from outside can easily enter, such as on a balcony or next to a window.
In such cases, wipe the moisture off with a dry towel.

Does the refrigerator door not close properly so that cold air escapes?

➔ Close the refrigerator door completely.

If the refrigerator door is not closed completely, cool air may escape and meet the moist air, causing condensation to form on the door gasket.
Clean the refrigerator, and remove and reinsert any drawers or shelves correctly if they were not assembled properly.
If you have placed too much food in the compartment, take some of the food out.
If there is a cover on top of the refrigerator, or if you have put a plastic bag in the storage space on the refrigerator door, remove it as it may get stuck in the refrigerator door.

Description of cold air leaking out if refrigerator door is not tightly closed

Is the door gasket contaminated with a foreign object so that it doesn't adhere well to the refrigerator door and cold air leaks?

➔ Clean the door gasket with a detergent.

If a foreign object has hardened on the door gasket, the door gasket may fall out and create a gap when you open and close the refrigerator door.
Wipe the door gasket with a hot steamed towel and then clean it with a toothbrush or sponge with toothpaste.
If moisture remains after cleaning, condensation may form again, so wipe it once more with a dry towel.
