LG refrigerator - The circuit breaker suddenly tripped.

Troubleshooting

The circuit breaker can trip due to electrical leakage from the product or internal shorts in the circuitry of the appliance.
The circuit breaker can trip due to a short circuit caused by leakage from the product, electrical wiring, or power outlet, or a defect in the circuit breaker itself.
Additionally, if multiple products with high power consumption are operated simultaneously on an extension cord, the circuit breaker may trip.

Troubleshooting Power Issues with Your LG Refrigerator

  1. Check Power Plug:

    • Is it connected to an extension cord?
Solution: Plug the refrigerator directly into a wall outlet. Extension cords can’t handle high power usage and may not provide enough power.
  2. Circuit Breaker Issue:

    • Does the circuit breaker stay tripped even after unplugging the refrigerator?
Solution: Unplug the refrigerator and try resetting the circuit breaker. If it still doesn’t reset, there may be a problem with your building’s electrical system. Contact your building management or an electrician. If the circuit breaker resets with the refrigerator unplugged but trips when plugged in, the refrigerator might have a defect. In this case, contact an LG service technician.
  3. Check the Outlet:

    • Do other appliances work in the same outlet?
Solution: Plug in a small appliance to test the outlet. If the other appliance doesn’t work, the outlet may be faulty. Contact your building management or an electrician to fix the outlet.

Plug in a small household appliance to check if the outlet is serviceable.
