[LG dryer - dust] The door gasket leaves dust stains

Troubleshooting

Do you see dust stains on the door gasket after using the dryer?

Causes and Symptoms

  • Humidity inside the dryer causes moisture on the door gasket.
  • The filter is clogged with dirt and contaminants.
  • You ran the machine with your laundry full of dirt.

There is a door gasket that seals moisture inside the dryer while running.
If humidity inside the dryer increases, water drops may gather around the gasket, and at this time any dirt which fell off your laundry would stick to the surfaces and clothes.
In addition, a filter inside the dryer that is covered with lots of dust may hinder smooth ventilation, leading to a higher humidity and an easier gathering of dust.
Towels, fur clothes, and others that create lint easily may be the cause of this problem.

Try this

Are there dust stains after you have cleaned the filter?

➔ Gently wipe off any dust or lint from the door gasket with a wet towel.

The door gasket may be stained with dirt due to moisture being present while the dryer is running.
This is natural. Gently clean the door gasket.
At this time, be careful not to abruptly pull or draw out the door gasket.
If the door gasket falls off, contact an LG Service Center.

Cleaning the Gasket Dust

➔ Regularly clean the filter to ensure smooth ventilation.

It is recommended to clean the inner filter every time you run the dryer, and clean the outer filter, every 10 times it is run.
After you have run the dryer 10 times, you will be notified by an alarm sound and the Clean Filter flickering on the display.
After cleaning the filter, fully dry and reinstall it.
If the filter is wet, Dry may not work properly.

Cleaning the Filters
① Clean around the filter inlet, remove and lay out the inner and outer filters.

Remove internal and external filters
② Vacuum clean the filters to remove any dust and wash then in a running water.
Then, dry them in a well-ventilated place.

Remove filter dust and clean with water
③ When the outer filter is completely dry, push the middle of the side to close it, and insert the inner filter in the outer filter, and then reinstall it.

Warning!

Using the dryer without the outer filter may allow contaminants to enter the filter inlet and cause a malfunction.
