[LG DIOS induction] It won’t ignite

Troubleshooting

Does [U] appear on the induction display and it does not operate? Is cookware not heated even when you press the touch button to operate the induction?

Causes and Symptoms

  • Cookware not suitable for the induction range is being used.
  • The bottom of cookware is not placed properly on top of the burner.
  • Cookware which does not suit the burner size is used.

The induction range operates by creating a magnetic field using a coil installed under the burner to directly heat cookware.
For such reasons, cookware made of materials to which magnets do not stick, such as glass or ceramics, cannot be used on an induction range.
Also, the induction electric range may not ignite if it is operated without placing appropriately sized cookware on top of it, or if the cookware used has a base that is less than 90% of the size of the burner.

➔ Use induction-compatible cookware which can be used for induction electric range.

If cookware unsuitable for induction electric ranges is used, the burner will not operate.
Use induction-compatible cookware with an IH or coil shaped symbol on the bottom or appropriate cookware according to the following information.
It is better to check first if cookware can be heated effectively well before cooking.
