Troubleshooting

Causes and Symptoms

  • Target temperature is set too high.
  • Outdoor unit room does not vent air very well.

  • Power connection status is unstable.

Depending on the surrounding and setting of the indoor/outdoor unit, the product might fail to provide cooling or its cooling might be weak.
Check inspection items.

Try this

Checking the setting condition of the product

➔ Check the operation mode of the air conditioner.

1. Set the general cooling mode and the target temperature of 18℃, and operate it for more than 30 minutes and check the coldness.

2. Air purification standalone operation, dehumidification, AI[A1], power saving operation and so on might not feel cold enough.

After setting the general cooling mode and setting the desired temperature to 18℃, operate it for more than 30 minutes to check the cooling status.

➔In the display window of the stand type product, do you see the [Leaf Sign] or [Od] display?

Leaf symbol : This operation function is used to consume less power than the rated power consumption, and when the indoor temperature reaches the target temperature during cooling operation or dehumidification operation, or in case of air purification standalone operation, this sign can appear.

Od symbol : This function indicates that the temperature of the space where the outdoor unit is installed has risen rapidly, affecting the cooling performance and degrading cooling.

Checking the outdoor unit

1. Remove obstacles from in front of, at the back of, and around the outdoor unit.

If ventilation is not smooth due to an obstacle, cooling may be degraded.

Remove obstacles in front of and around the outdoor unit.

2. Open the window of the place where the outdoor unit is located or the ventilation window in the outdoor unit room.

Open lower blades [louvers] in the ventilation window in the outdoor unit room as close to horizontal as possible.

Open the window where the outdoor unit is located or the ventilation window in the outdoor unit room.

Checking the indoor unit

1. Clean the ultra fine filter.

A contaminated filter may cause decreased cooling capacity, noises or condensation.

Note
The ultra fine filter and the functional filter cannot be washed with water depending on the characteristics, so refer to the user manual and check the filter management methods before cleaning it.

[Stand air conditioner]

After checking the location of filter for each product, remove the ultra fine filter.
Use a cleaning machine or soft brush to clean it.

After checking the position of the stand air conditioner filter, take out the ultra-fine filter.

[Combined (master bedroom) wall mounted air conditioner]

The wall mounted type air conditioner requires a different method of separating the ultra fine filter depending on the type of front panel assembly. After checking the location of filter for each product, remove the ultra fine filter.

① Use a cleaning machine or soft brush to clean it.
If it is severely contaminated, wash it with water using neutral detergent.
[Only the ultra fine filters can be washed with water.
An integrated type of ultra fine filter and dust collection filter requires a replacement.]

② Avoid the direct sunlight and make sure to dry it in the shade with good air ventilation until it has no moisture in it and then assemble it again.

Clean with a type A or type B vacuum cleaner or soft brush.

2. Check if the wind suction pipe of the indoor unit is clogged.

Usually, as the curtain is located at the rear of the product, and the wind is blocked, thus cold wind and wind strength are weakened and noises can be generated.

Check if the air intake of the indoor unit is not blocked.

Checking the power status

Air conditioners are electrical appliances that consume a lot of power.
Check if the power of the product is turned on.

1. If the power cord is loosely plugged in, the cord may overheat or the power may be turned off.

Unplug the cord, cool it down for approximately 30 minutes, plug it in correctly and operate the air conditioner again.

2. Avoid using a power strip and plug it in a wall electrical outlet by itself for use.

Avoid using multi-tap and connect only one outlet.

3. If a power strip must be used due to the installation environment, use a 16 or higher amps power strip with a cable thickness between 2 to 2.5mm(0.08~0.1in). The air conditioner must be used alone.

Checking the max capacity of power strip

Look at the power plug for the power strip, you can see the max permitted capacity and the rated usage capacity.
16A [ampere] or more, wire thickness 2~2.5mm, used alone for air conditioner
※ The maximum capacity of the power strip is 16A x 250V= 4,050V.
Adequate usage capacity is 3,200W which is no more than 80% of the max permitted capacity.
After checking the rated power consumption at the label attached to the stand or wall mounted type product, and use it again.
