[LG Air Conditioner Leakage] There is water leaking from the air conditioner. [Inspection items]

Troubleshooting

Causes and Symptoms

  • The drain hose water has fallen out or is torn
  • High temperature or humidity nearby
  • Tip of drain hose is soaked in water.
  • Levelness of drain hose has curvatures.
  • The drain pump has a problem.

If drain is not smooth due to the air conditioner installation structure, then sometimes you have to install a drain hose during the installation process.
Water leaks can occur due to various conditions.
Due to the curvature of the drain hose or soaking of the tip of drain hose in the water, water leakages can occur.

Try this

The drain hose has fallen out or is torn.

If the drain hose connection has fallen out or is torn, reconnect it properly and wrap insulating tape around it.
If you cannot do it yourself, it is recommended to have a service technician check it.

If the drainage hose is torn, connect it well and wrap it with insulating tape

Check if cooling operation is taking place while the window is opened on a wet day or while cooking food indoors.

➔ If the difference between the indoor temperature and the winds from the air conditioner is big, or on a wet day, dews are formed near the water supply outlet or white steams can come out from it.

In case of dew formed, use a dry cloth to wipe it off.

Stand air conditioner: White smoke is generated when the cool air from the air conditioner and the hot air in the room meet

Check if the end of the drain hose is connected to the water tank or is submerged in the water tank.

If the end of the drain of the water is submerged in water, water may flow back into the product.
Empty the water tank frequently to prevent the end of the drain hose from being submerged in water.

Make sure that the end of the drain hose is connected to the water tank or that the end of the hose is submerged in the water tank.

Adjust the drain of the water so that it is in a straight line without any downward bends.

➔ If the drain hose is severely curved/kinked so that you cannot straighten it, it is necessary to have it checked by a service technician.

Check if the power supply is connected to the drain hose.

The drain pump requires a separate power supply in addition to the air conditioner power.
If the power is not connected, connect the power.
When checking the outlet, plug in another electronic device (hair dryer, etc.) to check if it is functioning.

If it’s not facing downwards or if it is bent, it may not drain water properly and cause backflow in the product.
Keep the hose straight so that it’s not bent.

Check if the drain of the water of the air conditioner is properly connected to the drain pump.

➔ Insert and connect the drain of the water to the drain pump correctly.

Connecting the drain hose to the drain pump correctly

Gently shake the drain pump from side to side.

➔ The water detection switch inside the pump may get caught in the structure and not operate.
In such a case, shake it from side to side and it should operate normally.

Holding the drain pump with both hands and shaking it from side to side

I have taken the necessary measures, but the drain pump does not operate normally.

The drain pump is a separate product that an installation technician purchases on the market and installs.
For inconveniences, such as a water leak or noise due to pump failure, contact the installation technician.

Explaining that the drain pump is a separately purchased product

If water flows even though the air conditioner is turned off and/or not in use

Condensed water generated while the air conditioner was running may not have been drained properly and may leak out of the product.
Check if the drain hose is properly connected.

➔ Did a water leak occur after the product was first installed or relocated?

It is necessary to check if the drain hose was connected properly during installation.

➔ Did water leak occur while using the product, not after the product was first installed or relocated?

For accurate checking, it is recommended to have it checked by a service technician through an accurate diagnosis.
