[LG Air Purifier] The value shown on the dust sensor is too low

Troubleshooting

Learn more about it.

The dust sensor of the product counts the number of fine dust that passes through the sensor and shows the degree of cleanliness (dust level).
Dust particles larger than PM10 that occur when shaking off blankets and clothes may not respond properly in the PM1.0 sensor.

50 to 70 μm Thickness of one strand of hair, 10 μm fine dust / yellow dust [PM10], 2.5 μm ultrafine dust [PM2.5], 1 μm ultrafine dust [PM1.0]

Try this:

Check the dust sensor operation.

1. To test whether the PM 1.0 dust sensor is working properly, prepare a sheet of paper (A4 paper).
2. Hold both sides of the upper part of the filter cover on the back of the product, pull it slightly toward your body, and lift it to separate.
3. Bring the paper close to the PM 1.0 dust sensor and tear it several times (about five times). Rub the torn edges for 10 to 15 seconds.

Tearing paper in front of a dust sensor
Rubbing the torn paper

When the sensor detects the dust caused by friction between the torn parts, the dust level will rise.
If the product reacts as above, the dust sensor function is working normally.

Please clean the dust sensor.
