[LG styler - Noise] Vibration or noise is made during operation

Troubleshooting

Do you feel vibration or hear sounds like clicking, bumping, crackling, beeping, or humming?

Causes and Symptoms

  • The clothes hangers are not fixed to the guide or an empty hanger has been left in the Styler.
  • The styler is not level.
  • Buttons or zippers in the clothes collide with each other.
  • A sound is heard from the compressor of the styler.

The moving hanger in the styler travels back and forth up to 200 times a minute to have steam evenly permeate your clothes.
Therefore, vibrations or sounds may occur to some degree.
In addition, drying clothes needs a high temperature inside the styler and so the compressor (motor) runs.
At this time, if the room temperature is low, the compressor runs faster to raise the temperature inside the styler quickly, and thus the sound from the operating compressor becomes louder.
This is similar to your car engine: you speed up, the engine becomes louder, you slow down, the sound becomes softer.
When the temperature inside the styler reaches around 40℃, the compressor will slow down and the sound will become softer.

Try this

Are the clothes hangers properly installed in the groove in the moving hanger?

➔ Fit your clothes hanger securely into the groove of the moving hanger. Take out empty clothes hangers not being used.

If you hear rattling, clicking or bumping sounds while running the styler, press Pause, open the door, and check if the clothes hangers are firmly fixed into the groove of the moving hanger.
If a clothes hanger is not fixed, make sure that you insert it into the groove of the moving hanger and pull it down to fix it in place.
In addition, empty clothes hangers in the moving hanger, may cause noise through colliding, so remove unused hangers.

If you are to use ordinary clothes hangers other than the dedicated ones for the styler, choose hangers which have hooks less than 4mm thick.
Using clothes hangers that don’t fit into the groove of the moving hanger may result in swaying, collisions, and noise.

Is your styler not balanced and swaying?

➔ If it sways during operation, rebalance the styler.

If the styler is not balanced, vibration as well as noise may occur.
Firstly, push the styler diagonally and see if it rocks or shakes.
If you feel rocking or shaking, adjust the lower side of the styler to level the machine.

If you want to reduce noise and properly use the Steam function, make sure that you have installed your styler on a hard and flat surface.

Did you run the styler without fastening the zippers and buttons in your clothes?

➔ Fasten all zippers and buttons in your clothes and hang the clothes so buttons and zippers face toward the inside of the styler.

The zippers and buttons in your clothes may hit the inner wall of the styler and create nose.
Fasten zippers and buttons properly and hang the clothes so that zippers and buttons face toward the inside, not the wall, of the styler.
Hang your clothes so that they face in the same direction so as to avoid them hitting each other.

Do you hear a beeping or humming noise that is similar to the sound from a refrigerator while running your styler?

➔ This is a normal sound that is made by the compressor operating to dry your clothes.

The styler comes with a compressor that circulates air.
Operating the compressor will make a humming noise.
When the temperature in the position where your styler is installed is low, starting Dry will operate the compressor faster to raise the temperature inside the styler and it may make a beeping noise.
