[LG OLED TV] The AI (magic) remote control batteries discharge quickly

Troubleshooting

Since the AI (magic) remote control continuously communicates with the TV, it consumes more battery than a standard remote control,
and when the remote control batteries are low, the AI (magic) remote control may not work smoothly or may not work at all.
When a message asking you to replace the batteries appears on the TV, replace the batteries.

Causes and symptoms

  • While using the AI (magic) remote control, a message appears on the TV to replace the batteries.

Try this

➔ Replace the remote control batteries.

The TV remote control will not work if the batteries run low or if they are inserted in the wrong direction/polarity.

How to replace the batteries in a remote control

1. Slide down the battery cover on the back of the remote control to open it.

2. Check the polarity (positive and negative) signs inside the remote control. (e.g.: 1.5V, AAA type)

3. When replacing the batteries, make sure that both of them are new and of the same type.

If connection cannot be established after replacing the batteries for the AI (magic) remote control

➔ Is there an Internet wireless router or Internet phone near the TV?

If an electronic device is too close to the TV, it may interfere with the radio waves and connection with the AI remote control may be lost.

➔ If the pointer does not appear on the screen when you shake the AI (magic) remote control or press the wheel button,
the connection between the remote control and the TV may have been lost.

Pair the AI (magic) remote control to the TV again.
