[LG Dios dishwasher] The Refill Salt icon is turned on.

Troubleshooting

When the salt in the salt dispenser of the water softener falls below a specified concentration level, the Refill Salt icon will illuminate.
Refill salt and stir it well until it dissolves, then the Refill Salt icon will be turned off.

Try this

Do you want to know how to refill salt in the water softener?

➔ Refill salt as follows.

Refilling salt in the water softener
① Remove the dish basket.
② Open the lid of the water softener next to the filter by turning it counterclockwise.
③ Place a sieve on the water softener inlet and insert salt.
If this is for the first time you have refilled the salt, you need to put in 1 kg of salt and 1 liter of water.
For the second time and afterward, you put 1 kg of salt only.
Stir with a long stick to quicken the dissolving of the salt.
④ Turn the water softener lid clockwise and lock it firmly.
If the lid is not firmly locked, salt water might leak into the tub and cause rusting.
⑤ With the tub emptied, press the [Quick] button on the control panel and then press [Start].
This may remove any salt left inside.
Open the lid and pour salt and water
Warning!

A dedicated water softener salt is recommended.
Use only a refined salt with a purity of 99% or over.
Use of salt for household use may degrade the effect of the water softener and create lots of white stains.

Is the Refill Salt not turned off after you refilled the salt?

➔ Wait until the salt in the salt box of the water softener dissolves.

The Refill Salt is not turned off right after you add salt.
Stirring the salt water will quicken the dissolving of the salt and thicken the salt concentration from bottom to top.
After some time passes, the overall concentration will become even, then the sensor inside the product will float and the Refill Salt will be turned off.
If a day has passed since you refilled salt but the Refill Salt is still turned on, you need to call a service technician to check for an abnormality in the water softener.

Wait! Here are more tips
  • In case of refilling salt for the first time, make sure you fill the water level up to the top of the water softener.
If the water level is not high enough to float the sensor, the Salt Refill may not turn off.
  • The refilled salt will dissolve naturally.
New water added during operation of the dishwasher will also dissolve the salt.
This is a normal phenomenon and will not result in harm to the operation of your dishwasher.
