Causes and Symptoms
- The refrigerator compressor sometimes makes a buzzing or humming noise.
The sound produced by the refrigerator's cooling motor (compressor) or the fan that circulates cold air is a normal sound of operation, similar to the sound that occurs when starting or stopping a car engine.
The cooling motor operates to produce cold air, but once a certain level of coldness is reached inside the refrigerator and the temperature drops, the motor stops operating.
A buzzing noise will occur during the start of this process.
Rest assured as it is not a product defect.
