From the Home screen, touch and hold the Recent Apps Key (in the Touch Keys bar) > Settings > Language & input > the Settings icon (next to LG Keyboard) > Keyboard height and layout.
The Bottom row keys setting allows you to select the default keys on either side of the Space Key.
The Extend keyboard setting displays numeric keys on the top row of the keyboard.
The Keyboard height setting allows you to change the size ratio between the keyboard and screen.
The Keyboard theme setting allows you to choose a theme for your keyboard.
The Split keyboard setting allows you to split the keyboard in half by spreading two fingers to the left and right.
The One-handed operation setting allows you to swipe the keyboard left or right to adjust the position of the LG keyboard.

Enter other characters |
Tap the Numbers/Symbols Key to display the numbers and symbols keyboard. Tap the Arrow Keys on the left side of the keyboard to view additional symbols. From the Numbers/Symbols keyboard, you can also tap the Graphics Key to enter graphics into your text. To enter foreign characters, touch and hold the associated key to display a pop-up of character choices (e.g., the “a” key also includes an accent mark “á”), drag your finger to the character you want, then lift your finger. |
Enter one capital letter |
Tap the Shift Key to capitalize the next letter. The key changes to . |
Enter all capital letters |
Double-tap the Shift Key to set caps lock. The key changes to . Tap again to revert to lowercase. |
Highlight text |
Double-tap a word to highlight it. To highlight a range of text, double-tap a word, then drag the blue highlight markers to highlight the text you want. |
Cut or copy selected text |
Highlight the desired text, then tap Cut, Copy, or Select all in the action box above the highlighted text. |
Paste cut or copied text |
Tap the location where you want to paste the text, then tap the marker . Tap Paste in the action box that appears. |

To change your text input settings and see the dictionary of terms you’ve used, from the Home screen, touch and hold the Recent Apps Key (in the Touch Keys bar) > Settings > Language & input. The following options are available in the KEYBOARD & INPUT METHODS section.
Default - Designates the default keyboard to use when entering text.
LG Keyboard - Tap the Settings icon (on the right side of the screen) to change the following settings.
MY KEYBOARD
Input language and keyboard layout: Sets the keyboard language and keyboard layout. This is where you can select multiple languages for your keyboard input.
Keyboard height and layout: Sets certain characteristics for your keyboard to help you enter text more easily.
Bottom row keys: Sets the keys on either side of the Space Key. Choose from the Voice input Key , the Handwriting Key , the Clip Tray Key , and the Symbols Key (you can even designate the default symbol).
Extended keyboard: Checkmark to show the numeric keys on the top row of the keyboard.
Keyboard height: Sets the the height of the keyboard to show more (or less) of the screen to make typing easier.
Keyboard theme: Sets the keyboard theme. Choose White or Black.
Split keyboard:Checkmark to split the screen when you spread two fingers on the on-screen keyboard in landscape view.
One-handed operation: Checkmark to allow you to position the LG keyboard on the left or right side of the screen so that it’s easier to type with just one hand.
SMART INPUT
Path input: Checkmark to enter a word by drawing a path through all of the letters.
Show word suggestions: Checkmark to show words through text prediction.
Auto-correction: Sets the level of auto-correction. Choose from Off, Mild, Moderate, and Aggresive.
Update word suggestions: Update to get more word suggestions using Swipe Connect.
Additional settings
EFFECTS
Vibrate on keypress: Checkmark to provide a vibration when you tap the keyboard keys.
Sound on keypress: Checkmark to provide a sound when you tap the keyboard keys.
Pop-up on keypress: Checkmark to display a bubble with each character as you type.
INPUT TOOLS
Auto-capitalization: Capitalize the first word of each sentence automatically.
Auto-punctuation: Automatically inserts a period when the space key is double-tapped.
Spell checker: Checkmark to show spelling errors.
Clear word suggestion history: Clear history of words suggested based on your input.
Personal dictionary: Add words to your word suggestions.
HANDWRITING
Languages: Downloads your preferred handwriting language.
Pentype and color: Sets the pen type and color.
Help: Displays LG Keyboard information for various LG keyboard features.
Google voice typing:Checkmark to select Google voice typing to enter text. Tap the Settings icon to change the Google voice typing settings.
Choose input languages: Allows you to select the languages to support with Google voice typing.
GENERAL
Block offensive words: Checkmark to hide recognized offensive text.
Offline speech recognition: Enables voice input while offline.
Voice Search: Sets voice search options.
Language: Sets the Google search by voice language.
“Ok Google” hotword detection: Turn this feature On to start the Google Search app simply by saying “OK Google”.
Speech output: Sets when to use speech output. Choose from On, Hands-free only, and Off. To turn on speech output only when you’ve got a headset attached to your phone, select Hands-free only.
Block offensive words: Checkmark to hide offensive voice results.
Offline speech recognition: Sets one or more additional languages for speech recognition when you don’t have a network connection.
Google Account dashboard: Launches the browser to manage your collected data.
Bluetooth headset: Checkmark to record audio through a connected Bluetooth headset.
Text-to-speech output: Sets the preferred speech engine and speech rate (very slow to very fast). Also plays a short demonstration of speech synthesis and displays the language status.
MOUSE/TRACKPAD
Pointer speed: Sets the pointer speed.
