Clicking sound.
The surface burner should spark or make a clicking sound when the knob is in the LITE position. It makes the spark and noise like “Tak-Tak” All the spark igniters on the cook top will activate when igniting one burner.

Check the cap location is correct.
Make sure that the caps and heads are placed in the correct locations.
When the knob is turned to LITE, voltage is discharged from electrode(spark plug) to burner cap.

Check ignitor for blockage.
Remove the burner cap and check the ignitor and any of the port for debris and blockage. If soil is seen on the ignitor, clean the ignitors with a soft bristled brush (such as a toothbrush) and/or a soft cloth.

Orifice is clogged.
With the burner cap and head removed, check the orifice spud found in the center opening of the burner zone for any debris or soils clogging it.

If soil is seen on the orifice, remove soil with a soft bristled brush (such as a toothbrush).

If the orifice is clogged with any food or debris, remove with tweezers.

Check gas supply.
Check the gas supply coming in to the home. Is the gas supply in the OPEN position? If it's closed, turn the gas valve to the OPEN position and try turning the burner on again.
