The air conditioner filter needs to be periodically cleaned or replaced depending on the type of filter your model uses so that it does not become clogged with dust.
Check the air filter at least twice a month to see if cleaning is necessary. Trapped particles in the filter can build up and block the airflow, reducing cooling capacity and causing an accumulation of frost on the evaporator.

Power OFF and Unplug the Unit
Always power off and unplug the air conditioner prior to cleaning to prevent harm to yourself or damage to the unit.

Remove the Air Filter
1Open the filter housing by pulling the inlet grille forward.
2Remove the air filter from the front grille by pulling the filter forward and then up slightly.

Cleaning the Filter
NoteDO NOT reinstall the filter until it is completely dry.
1Rinse any dust and debris from the filter using lukewarm water below 104°F (40°C).
2Gently shake the excess water from the filter and allow it to air dry.
3Once dry, place the filter back into the grill
4Then push the grille back into place.
5Plug the power cord back in and power on the unit to ensure it is operating properly.
