LG Dryer: Understanding D90 and D95
Your new LG Dryer is equipped with a duct blockage sensor that can help warn you of a potential blocked exhaust duct.
If you see a d90 or d95 error on your control panel, your dryer has detected a 90% or 95% blockage in the duct work, prompting immediate attention.
Blockages and restrictions in your home exhaust system possibly caused by lint buildup and debris, can prevent your dryer from running efficiently at maximum performance.
Here are a few possible solutions:
1.Make sure that your lint filter is clean and free of any blockages.
2.Check the outside dryer air vent while the dryer is in operation, to make sure that there is a strong airflow. If there is no airflow, or if the airflow is weak, you may have a restriction that needs to be removed.
3.Next, with the dryer unplugged and turned off, disconnect the vent from your dryer and see if there are any visible obstructions. If there are, remove the obstruction and reconnect. At this point, run your dryer to see if your problem has been eliminated.
4.Check the vent hood for damage or lint clogging, and make sure the area around the vent hood is clear.
5.Not all blockages and restrictions can be easily seen. For instance, if the ductwork is too long or has too many bends, blockages can occur. If this is the case, it is recommended that you call a professional for duct cleaning.
Using a dryer with a severely restricted exhaust may create an unsafe environment.
Do not use the dryer until the exhaust system has been cleaned and repaired.

The dryer is indicating that the airflow is restricted somewhere between the dryer and the outside exhaust exit. Normally, this is a sign to have a yearly vent cleaning completed by a professional vent cleaner, here is a list of possible resolutions without a vent specialist.

- Check that the exhaust hose behind the dryer is not crushed, dented, kinked, or compressed.
- Verify the exhaust hose is completely straight or in an S curve. (pictured below).
- Check for holes or loose connections.
- Verify exhaust hose is rigid duct or semi rigid duct.

Outside of the Home
- Start Air Dry Cycle.
- Locate outside exhaust outlet.
- Verify flappers are opening all the way.
- If flappers are unable to open, replace exhaust cover.
- Remove any visible lint around the exhaust.

Contact a professional vent cleaning specialist to inspect the home ventilation.
