LG French Door Refrigerator - In Door Ice Maker Operation

[Narrator]
  • Ice makers are great but not if it means you can't fit all of your food in the fridge.

  • A slim space plus ice system provides more shelf space and allows even more space for door bins.

  • In this short video, we will show you how to properly use your slim indoor icemaker.

  • Your indoor ice bin holds approximately 6 to 8 glasses of ice.

  • The ice maker will stop producing ice when the bin gets full.

  • For constant production, please empty your indoor ice bin into the extra ice been provided with your refrigerator.

  • Ideally about 3 pounds of ice will be produced in a 24 hour period.

    • [Turning the Ice Maker ON/OFF]

    • Open the refrigerator door.

    • Open the ice compartment by gently pulling the handle downward.

    • The power switch is located on the icemaker and is marked ON and OFF.

    • Set the ice maker switch to ON or OFF.

    • Close the ice compartment door, and pull the handle upwards.

    • Make sure that the compartment door is tightly closed.

    • It takes approximately 12 to 24 hours for a newly installed refrigerator to begin making ice.

    • It is recommended that you throw away the first few batches of ice.

    • [Removing the In-Door Ice Bin]

    • Open the refrigerator door.

    • Open the icemaker compartment by gently pulling the handle downward.

    • Grip the front handle of the ice bin.

    • Slightly lift and pull the bin out.

    • [Reinstalling the In-Door Ice Bin]

    • Place the bin in the icemaker compartment and firmly push it into place.

    • Close the compartment door and pull the handle upwards.

    • Make sure that the compartment door is tightly closed.

    • Close the refrigerator door.

    • It is recommended that you turn your icemaker off, if the ice bin is removed for more than 1 or 2 minutes or if you will not be using the refrigerator for several days.

    • It is also recommended that you empty your ice bin when you turn the icemaker off to prevent ice clumping.

    • As a side note when ice is being produced, the icemaker tray may be tilted.

    • This is part of normal operation.

  • For more information please refer to the caution label located inside of the icemaker compartment.
