Front load washers perform at their best when the routine maintenance is performed on the unit. Following a regular maintenance schedule will not only ensure that the washer is functioning at peak performance, but also prevent unnecessary failures. Regular maintenance should be performed approximately once a month, and be performed on each section of the washing machine.
The detergent dispenser should be cleaned at least once a month to remove any residue build-up occurring from the use of detergent and additives in the washer. Cleaning the dispenser will ensure that the washer continues to dispense detergent and additives properly and at the correct time during the wash cycle.
To clean the detergent dispenser:

Remove the detergent dispenser by pulling it out towards you until it stops. Locate the depressed tab between the bleach and softener compartment. While pushing down on the tab, pull the detergent tray out from the washer. |

Once the detergent dispenser is removed from the washer, disassemble the inserts from the tray and clean each of the components with warm water and a soft bristled brush. |

After the detergent dispenser is cleaned and rinsed, reassemble the inserts and replace the detergent dispenser into the washer. |

Note: Do not clean the detergent tray components in a dishwasher. Doing so may melt or warp the dispenser pieces.
Items can become trapped in the drain pump and restrict the drain flow of the water, which will hinder the performance of the washer. The drain filter should be cleaned at least once a month, though it may be necessary to clean it more often depending on the frequency of use.
To clean the drain filter:

Press the POWER button to turn the washing machine off and remove the plug from the outlet. |

Locate the service panel on the bottom-left corner of the unit and open it. |

Unclip the drain hose and remove the plug from the drain hose to drain the water remaining inside the wash tub. Note: Do not pull the hose to far out, as it will kink the hose and prevent the water from draining out. |

Drain the excess water into a short bucket or shallow pan. Note: The amount of water will vary according to when in the cycle the issue occurred. |

After all the remaining water has drained from the drain hose, twist the pump filter counterclockwise to remove from the washer. |

Clean the pump filter and filter opening with a soft-bristled brush and warm water. |

The door and gasket of the washer should be wiped dry at the end of each wash day. This helps to keep them both free of hair and lint that can prevent a proper seal. In addition, both should be cleaned at least once a month. Failure to do so can result in leaking from the washer door.
To clean the door and gasket:
- Dilute 3/4 cup of bleach with 1 gallon of warm water. Use vinegar in place of bleach if desired. DO NOT use bleach and vinegar together.
- Using a cloth and the cleaning solution, clean the surface of the door gasket. Pull the lip of the gasket back and clean under it as well.
- Clean around the inside of the door, paying extra attention to the bottom of the door where hair, lint and residue can accumulate.
Note: Do not use straight bleach to clean the gasket as this can cause the gasket to deteriorate over time.
The TubClean Cycle is a cyle that is preset with the optimum settings to clean the inside of the wash tub. When the TubClean Cycle is selected, the washer will run a hot wash cycle to clean the inside of the unit, followed by a high spin speed to help dry the inside of the drum.
To activate the TubClean Cycle, press the TubClean button and then press the Start/Pause button.
Note:If the washer is not equipped with the TubClean Cycle, use the Sanitary Cycle instead.
Over time, the washer’s inlet filters can become clogged, especially in areas with hard water. Cleaning the water inlet filters is simple and will help the washer run smoothly for longer.
- Press the POWER button to turn off the washer, and unplug it before cleaning.
- Turn off both water taps completely.
- Unscrew the hot and cold water lines from the back of the washer.
- Remove the filters from the water inlets. Soak them in white vinegar or a lime scale remover. Be careful not to damage the water inlets. Rinse thoroughly before reinstalling.
- Press the filters back into place and reattach the water lines.
