Does fabric softener still remain in the detergent dispenser after washing?
Has the fabric softener hardened?
Causes and Symptoms
- Fabric softener has hardened inside the detergent dispenser.
- The fabric softener used is highly viscous.
If you add fabric softener to the detergent drawer prior to starting the washer, it will be automatically dispensed into the washing tub (or drum) during the final rinse cycle, following the completion of the wash cycle.
However, if fabric softener remains in the detergent dispenser, please check whether you are using the appropriate kind of softener.
Try this
Has it been a while since you last cleaned the detergent dispenser?
➔ Use the correct amount of fabric softener and clean the detergent dispenser once a week.
If fabric softener hardens in the detergent dispenser, it will not be released into the drum when the wash cycle starts.
Please make sure not to leave fabric softener in the dispenser for more than two days.
For removing any residual detergent or fabric softener, ensure a regular cleaning of the detergent dispenser.
Put some fabric softener into the detergent dispenser, select [Rinse 1 time] and press the [Start/Pause] button.
If no fabric softener remains in the detergent dispenser after water has been added to the drum, it indicates that the washer is functioning properly.
Clean the components using a toothbrush dipped in lukewarm water.
Put fabric softener into the detergent dispenser, select [Rinse 1 time] and press the [Start/Pause] button.
If no fabric softener remains in the detergent dispenser after water has been added to the drum, it indicates that the washer is functioning properly.
Are you using a highly concentrated fabric softener?
➔ If your fabric softener is rather sticky, then dilute it with water before use.
Even though it is a liquid, highly concentrated fabric softener can be quite viscous.
Leaving it in the detergent dispenser for a while can cause it to harden.
It is advised to clean the detergent dispenser frequently and avoid using highly concentrated fabric softeners.
If your fabric softener is old and sticky, mix it with water to ensure that it easily enters the washing tub.
Is the pressure of the water supply too low?
➔ Make sure the faucet connected to the water supply hose is fully open.
If the water pressure is low, the washer may not receive an adequate amount of water within the set time.
If that is the case, please fully open the faucet connected to the water supply hose and check if enough water is flowing out.
If the problem still persists, please request a service inspection.
Did you open the detergent dispenser while water was being supplied to the drum?
➔ Add fabric softener into the detergent dispenser just before starting the washer.
The fabric softener enters the washing tub with the water supplied for the final rinse cycle.
If you open the detergent dispenser during this time, the fabric softener may not be added.
