- Steam, which might be mistaken for ‘smoke’, comes out from the washer.
If steam is generated from the front of the unit
1. If the door is opened during a wash cycle, it is normal to see steam escape.
When running on Normal cycle, the temperature of the water is raised up to 40°C/104°F and the temperature of the air inside the drum also rises.
* A higher or lower water temperature setting is available depending on the selection of additional options.
* The available water temperature settings may vary by product model or cycle.
If you open the washer’s door during a hot wash cycle, you may observe a smoke-like rise of steam, depending on the outside temperature.
Since it is possible to use hot water and add more laundry, you may see steam escaping when you open the door. This may be mistaken for 'smoke'.
However, this is a normal occurrence, similar to steam rising from a hot cup of coffee. Rest assured, the product is safe to use.
2. In the case of newer models, the LED light on the door gasket make steam more visible when you open the washer’s door.

If steam is generated from the rear of the unit
Steam is observed due to the temperature difference between the inside and the outside of the washer during high-temperature operations.
The washer is equipped with an Air Vent, a hole designed for ventilation and safety purposes.
When a high-temperature cycle, such as the Sanitary cycle or a drying cycle is in operation, the inside of the washer becomes extremely hot.
This heat generates steam in the tub, which may escape through the washer's air vent.
This occurrence is a normal part of the washer's operation and is akin to steam rising from a boiling kettle.
