Can’t you turn on the lighting of keyboard even if you press [Fn] + [F8] on the keyboard?
Causes and Symptoms
- Hot Key control program is not installed.
- There is a problem in the start program setting.
- Is the high priority function key option turned on in LG Control Center?
Try this
Is the LG On Screen Display3(OSD3) program installed?
Check if the program is installed by referring to the following.
① In the input window at the left bottom of the screen, search for [Program] and select [Add or remove program].
② In [App & features], check if the [LG On Screen Display3] program is installed.
※ Depending on the release year, in some models, you have to search for [lgpcuwp] in Microsoft Store and install it.
② If you are unable to locate the LG Update Center or the LG DnA Center Plus program, you can access the LG Electronics website's download library and select [Laptop/Tab] from the [IT/Monitor] category and enter the model name.
After that choose the corresponding Windows version from the [Operating System (OS)] category and you can proceed to install either the LG Update Center or LG DnA Center Plus program.
Is the [HotkeyManager] status set to [Disabled]?
① Right-click on the [Start] button at the bottom left of the screen and select [Task Manager].
② In [Task Manager] → [Start Program], switch the [HotkeyManager] status from [Disabled] → [Enabled].
※ If in simple mode, then click the [Detail] button.
Does the keyboard lighting work if you press the [F8] key on the keyboard?
① In the input window at the left bottom of the screen, search for and select LG Control Center.
② In [LG Control Center] → [System Settings] → [Hotkey mode setting], switch from [Use] → [Not Use].
※ Depending on the model, there might be no keyboard lighting function.
