LG Range ThinQ Features and Settings

Have you connected your range to the LG ThinQ app? Want to learn more about what you can do? This article will show you the features and settings you can use with your connected smart appliance.

  1. From the ThinQ main page tap on the ranger card.
  2. Once the card loads, tap the more button More button in the upper right hand corner to access the features and settings for your range.

  • If the appliance is connected to a home Wi-Fi network, this function starts preheating and then holds the temperature for up to 12 hours (including preheating time). If the appliance is not connected to the network, OFF appears in the display.

    Setting remote start:

    1. Open the oven door to make sure the oven is empty and ready for preheating and close the oven door.

    2. Turn the oven knob to REMOTE START or press the REMOTE START button.

    3. Follow the directions in the ThinQ application to set the cook mode, temperature, and run time (preheating plus holding time).

  • Using the LG ThinQ app you can take advantage of scan to cook with your Wi-Fi connected range.

    1. Open the oven door to make sure the oven is empty and ready for preheating and close the oven door.

    2. Turn the oven knob to REMOTE START or press the REMOTE START button.

    3. On the range tab tap the bar code icon in the upper right to open the scanner.

    4. Scan the bar code or QR code on the food item.

    5. The preset temperature, cook time, and instructions will be sent to the LG ThinQ app.

    6. Press send to transfer to the range.

    7. Once preheating is done add in the food item to complete cooking.

    NOTE: You can adjust settings for cooking temperature to your desired level.

  • Here you can perform a diagnosis of your machine right from within the ThinQ app. This can be useful to help troubleshoot some issues you might have with your smart appliance. Depending on the product you may be able to perform Wi-Fi diagnosis or an audible diagnosis. Press get started and follow the instructions that appear in the app.


  • Here you can control general settings of your connected range

    • Edit Nickname - Useful if you have two appliances. You can give each one a custom nickname to easily distinguish between them.
    • Location - You can assign an appliance to a specific room in your home. This can also be done by choosing manage rooms in the app settings.
    • Preferences
      1. Cooktop On Alert - Sets the cooktop beeper volume
      2. Clock - Sets the format between 12 and 24 hour
      3. Preheating Alarm Light - Toggle the alarm light on or off
      4. Beeper Volume - Sets the beeper volume level from High, Low, or Mute
      5. Temperature unit - Toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius
      6. Auto Conversion - When enabled the temperature is automatically reduced when using convection modes
      7. Temperature Adjustment - Allows you to make adjustments to the thermostat of the oven
      8. Auto Remote - Toggles auto remote on or off
    • Change Network - Use this setting to connect to a different network.
    • Software Version - View the current installed software of your appliance.
    • Delete Product - Select this option to remove the product from the ThinQ app.
