Try This
The variety of ice shapes is normal operation and can vary depending on the water quality and operating conditions.
Half Sphere Ice
Cause:
Half Spheres of ice could be caused by a lack of water supply to the icemaker. This can be common on the first few batches of Craft Ice production.
Resolution
Try dispensing 2 to 3 gallons of water from the water dispenser and allow 2 to 3 batches of Craft ice to produce before the quality and consistency of the ice improves.
Flat Top, Oblong, and Crater Shaped Ice
Cause:
This shapes can be caused by air and contaminants being present in the water line due to a newly installed water filter, the water filter needing to be replaced, or low water pressure.
Resolution
Try dispensing 2 to 3 gallons of water from the water dispenser to purge the water line of any air or contaminants and allow 2 batches of Craft Ice to produce before the quality and consistency of the ice improves.
Ring Shaped Ice
Cause:
The ring around the Craft Ice is caused when the water volume expends and the water goes into the gaps between the trays. The frozen water can stay attached as a ring of fall away as chips in the ice bucket.
Resolution
Lowering the temperature of the freezer may prevent the ring from forming.
Tab Shaped Ice
Cause:
A raised tab on top of the ice is created when too much water is supplied to the tray.
Resolution
Lowering the water pressure to the fridge can resolve this issue.
