Check if the Icemaker is Turned On or Off
If it is off, air from the freezer compartment is not directed to the icemaker compartment. This will lead to ice melting and will cause leaking. Turn the icemaker on if turned off, or empty any remaining ice from the bin if you wish to leave it off.
Note:
If your Icemaker doesn't have a power switch, the Control Panel should have an Ice On/Ice Off Option.
-
Ensure the Icemaker Compartment Door is Closed Properly
If not closed properly, cold air will escape preventing the compartment from maintaining the proper temperature resulting in ice melting and possible leaking. Remove and reinstall the ice bin to ensure it is installed properly.
-
Purge the Water Lines
If newly installed or the water filter was replaced air can become trapped in the water line, causing leaking from the dispenser or ice maker, when pulling in water. Flush out air by dispensing 2 to 3 gallons of water then see if the leak resumes.
-
Check the Water Pressure
High water pressure can cause leaking by overshooting the ice tray, but so can low water pressure by missing the tray as the water dribbles from the fill tube. Adjust the water pressure by opening or closing the water valve connected to the refrigerator slightly to see if it help resolve the leaking.
