LG ThinQ - Troubleshooting Product Registration Issues

  • Troubleshooting

At a Glance

If the error code (NA/NB/NI/NM/ND/NS) appears while you are registering LG ThinQ app, check the following items below.

Note

  • ThinQ App connection supports routers of 2.4GHz ONLY. 5GHz is not supported.
  • If you have several routers, you have to reset the main router and the connecting routers altogether.

Try This

If the error code (NA/NB/NI/NM/ND/NS) appears while you are registering LG ThinQ app, check the following:

NA: The product is too far from the router (environment issue)

➔ Shorten the distance between the router and the product.

Screen with error code NA

NB: An incorrect router password was provided

➔ Check the router password (see the label at the top or bottom of the router).

Screen with error code NB

NI: Router IP not assigned (router issue)

➔ Reset the router (Press and hold for 3 seconds the Reset button at the back of the router, or turn the power off and on by pulling and replacing the power plug.)

Screen with error code NI

NM: Exceeded the maximum number of devices connected to the router (router issue)

➔ Reset the router (Press and hold for 3 seconds the Reset button at the back of the router, or turn the power off and on by pulling and replacing the power plug.)

Screen with error code NM

ND: Timeout due to identification failure (compatibility issue with latest routers)

➔ Establish a hotspot (tethering) connection once and then retry registering your router.

Screen with error code ND

NS: Router not connected to the Internet (router issue)

➔ It is necessary to check the router's Internet connection status.

Screen with error code NS
Note
  • If you have several routers, you have to reset the main router and the connecting routers altogether.
  • ThinQ App connection supports routers of 2.4GHz only.
    5GHz is not supported.

Check if the problem lies in the router.

Disconnect the ThinQ device from the Wi-Fi network and try connecting to a mobile hotspot.

1Enable the mobile hotspot on another device.

2Connect the mobile device used for ThinQ product registration to the mobile hotspot.

3Retry the product registration process and see if the problem continues.

If product registration is made using the mobile hotspot, the issue would be with the Wi-Fi router
