LG TONE Free - Why Do My Earbuds Keep Disconnecting?

  • Troubleshooting

At a Glance

If your earbuds keep disconnecting from the connected device, it can be caused by low battery, being too far from the connected device, or a bad connection between the two devices.

Try This

  1. The Connection Between the Devices is Bad

Bad connections can occasionally occur causing static, poor sound quality, or frequent disconnecting. This is normally resolved by refreshing the connection between the two devices.

    Note:

Steps may vary depending on the device.

1 Turn on the [Bluetooth] function.

2 Under paired devices, press the [Settings Icon] next to the name of the LG Tone.

    3 Tap [Forget/Unpair].

4 Place the LG Tone in pairing mode and reconnect it to your device.

  2. Battery Level is Low

If the earbuds have low battery, they may disconnect from your device periodically. Check the battery level and fully charge the earbuds before connecting them to your devices.

  3. Interference from Other Devices

Other Bluetooth devices nearby, other phones, wireless speakers etc., can interfere with the connection between your earbuds and device. If possible, deactivate Bluetooth on other devices in the area to reduce interference.

  4. Software is Outdated

If the Bluetooth software is outdated on your device or the earbuds, it can cause the Bluetooth connection to drop. LG Tone earbuds can be updated via the Tone Free App by doing the following:

1Download the “LG Tone Free” app to your mobile device.

2Open the charging case and place the earbuds in the cradle.

3Launch the LG TONE Free app to check for any available updates.

4Tap [Update]. If it doesn't show available updates automatically, scroll up the smartphone screen and select [Software Update].

  5. Factory Reset the Earbuds

If the steps above do not resolve the issue, performing a factory reset can help correct any bugs

1 Place the left and right earbuds in the charging case.
